Christmas Activities - continued -......... Thursday = A group of boys from the Ventur- ers of Terrace Bay came in and presented the residents with a variety of very servicable gifts. The presentation was received by Neil Smith on behalf of the residents and presented by Bill Megraw Jr. and Ron Seidel Jr. Mrs. Emilie Lemieux got up to thank the boys. The gifts of two leather hassocks, four jig saw puzzles and a cribbage board are things . which will be well received and used by the residents. These boys also offered to come in at any time to help with projects that are going on or assistance in any way. We can feel proud to know the youth in Terrace Bay with their active younglives still find time to share with the old. Friday, December 20th, the ladies of Schrei . -ber U.C.W. made their Christmas visit to Bir- chwood Terrace and presented the residents wi- th 3 cribbage boards, several packs of cards and a scrabble game. The gift was accepted on behalf of the residents by Mr. Miller. Mario Commisso entertained with his accor- dian and a lovely lunch was supplied by the U.C.W. members. Residents spent an enjoyable, relaxing evening. Winding up a very active month of Christmas activities, Birchwood Terrace residents had their own Christmas party Saturday, December "i 21st. ----_-- The brightly decorated lobby was filled to capacity with relatives and friends from the surrounding districts. Mr. Peter Vanderkam and Mr. Bill Megraw with their musicians formed a thirteen piece orchestra to dance by. Mrs. Margaret McKague and her childrens choir of the Community Church entertained with carols. Mrs. Freda Boucher sang and played the gui- tar. A bar was set up and lunch was served throughout the evening. Mr. Fred Harness of Schreiber and chairman of the board played Santa Claus delivering individual gifts to the residents from the sta- ff and each was given a box of chocolates pre- sented by the Kinsmen of Schreiber. Mr. Millie Vibert, Administrator for the home came down from Thunder Bay to attend the festivities. Although a very tired group on Sunday morn- ing, all the residents were in agreement that it was a most successful evening. A delightful afternoon of music and singing was enjoyed by the residents Sunday, December 22nd. The Nipigon-Red Rock "Village Choristers" a group of about twenty-five under the leader- ship of Mr. Medge Peel spent the afternoon en- tertaining. Mrs. Anita Jorvela was the pianist and Mr. Phil Emms from Thunder Bay the vocalist. Tea, coffee and cakes were served and anoth- er delightful afternoon was spent.
