PAGE IO TERRACE BAY NEWS NOVEMBER 28, I974 TO THE VOTERS OF TERRACE BAY People are asking the question of why there was no town meeting. The excuse ladies and gentlemen was that there was only two candidates and that no one would attend. How far from the truth, they know that the people going to this meeting would ask lots of questions that Mr. Bray could not answer or would not answer. Right after nominations closed a meeting was held by a few of C of C and it was decided there and then that no meeting was going to be held without consulting people on the street. Bray and the Council men knew about this but why was | not notified. |f | am elected this will be all changed. So will your ward system instead of picking 4 people from one ward. There will be one person elected from each ward and people who would never dream of running would, as they would know that in their ward that they would have a chance. When | put Radar on the highway to stop traffic and it was 100% effective who complained C of C that it was a speed trap and bad for the tourists whose name was on the letter Mr. Bray. Did he give any reason but it was bad for tourists. Why did he not stop to think that it was put there for the reason was to slow down traffic so that people could cross in safety. But all he thought about was the tourist. This meeting could have been one hell of a meeting in which important issues were involved. | never was one to believe to go around getting votes with a bottle in one hand. When | ask for your vote it is to give you my time and leadership in town and out of town. To look after your tax money. Anything that the town gets involved in the town will recei- ve credit for it that means that every tax payer knows that his tax dollar no matter how small helped. To people who are working on jobs that call for 3 or 4 hours a day will be paid the same as in the city: Crossing guards whose responsibility it is for the safe crossing of your children on-the highway; Library which is the heart of recreation where young and old use the facility and if you have not got the experienced staff you cannot get the best possible service. To the people of this town if | am elected | will see to it the efforts of the town office will be 100% to build a hospital. | say to you people that money which is spent for the good of the people is money well spent. There are so many ways of getting money. But | say again the town is 100% behind you when you reach the end of your limits of raising. money come to the town and you will find people in town council who are understanding. When | see so much of our money squandered around without the town getting any credit. | am sure that Mr. Bray is going to come out with a white paper on what he did. |f he is so proud of it then why did he not appear before the public and explain his actions. | can say one thing for Mr. Bray he has the right people working for him. He can have them. | am my own campaign manager and of which | can give you good government in town and out of town. | do not drink so my mind is always clear fo do your business. As | always hold this office with respect and dignity that this town deserves and expects from all council men and Reeve to abide by regardless of what kind of work or profession. A government who promises to throw the full weight of the town behind fo build a hospital. With the workers and with the help of the town you will be able to go the the government with the necessary money you need this year. You people remember what John F. Kennedy said. It is not what the town or country can do for you. But what you can do for the fown. A war was fought and people died so you could have the right fo vote. So make use of this privilege and go and vote so these people did not die in vain. Vote W. Adamo Reeve for good sound government. Signed: W. Adamo PETES PO
