Members and guests packed the spacious hall to be welcomed by Paul Boudreau. Governor of the Lodge Alphonse Desrosiers addressed members on the history of lodge I752 which started in 1954 with Bab Rickard as governor. Steady advances were made under gover- nore Don Laporte, Bill Stashiw, Doug Thompson, John Gross, Joe Dejonghe and Murray Dormen. He anticpated eventually having a larger lodge built on the same location, requiring the complete support of all their members. Social News - Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. B. Baillie who celebrated their thirty-sixth wedding anniversary on Tuesday, October 6th. Mrs, K. Anderson left last week to join her husband Jack and family in their new home in Iroquois Falls. Their son Fred departed previously for Saskatoon, Sask, to again attend High School there while residing with his uncle Mr. E, Ford. Before leaving Key was honoured jointly with Mrs. Stella LeBlanc by their Bridge Club when they met at the home of Mrs, J. Adamo. Some of St. John's Anglican Church parishioners were have attended it since the laying of the cornerstone fifty years ago were pictured in this issue. Twenty-six mem- bers attended. 25th Anniversary Celebrated - Mr. and Mrs. Vincenzo (Jimmy) Speziale were honored by. their family at a party arranged on October 2nd, their 25th wedding anniversary. (Short) Scott were honorec at a party arranged by relations on October 2nd their 25th wedding ann- iversary. 5 Holy Royal Arch Degree Masonry - Members of the Terrace Bay Masonic lodge receiving the Holy Royal Arch Degree were: E.S. Brown, C. Will, J.C. Clancy, E. 5tillwell, R.V. Hopper, K.J. Weppler, A.A, McKechnie and F.M. Liebrock. I YEAR AGO - Vol, I6, No. 40, October II, I973: An article entitled "P.E.0.P.L.E." by Scott Young - teken from the Globe & Mail wrote an article on this Government of Ontario project. In this hd had come across a kit from Jack- fish. The kit contained 80 color slides, a tape cassette and a typed history of Jackfish, inoluding a four-page slide com- mentary. This had been submitted by some Schreiber youths. Small Engine Shop for Terrace Bay - Another little shop has been opened in Terrace Bay- Scotty's Small Engine Shop. Here one may drop off small engines, law mowers, snow blow- ers, etc. for repair by Keith Scott, Proprietor, and pick them up when finished. L.A. Plan Christmas Bazaar - The Evening Group of the Ladies Auxiliary to the Community Church met on Monday, October Ist, with Mrs. M. Lundberg presiding. Mrs. M. Van Eeden would welcome further donations of nearly new items prior to the Christmas Bazaar, to be held November 24th in the Church Hall. A donation of $200. was meade to the Board of Stewards to assist with current expenses and a donation of $50.00 was made to Mrs. M. McKague to enable her to purchase new music for her junior choir, The meeting was adjourned and lunch served by Mrs. E. Buckley.
