Mrs. Maureen Costall of Nipigon wrote than- king the members for the brooch she was pre- sented with as a going-away gift and the fell- owship she had enjoyed with the Schreiber mem- bers. No decision was made on the catering for the Veterans' banquet, not all the replies having been received to requests sent out. Mrs. Babe Spikula, Mrs. Ethel Smith, and Mrs. Yvonne Webb were named hostesses for the November meeting. Mrs. Wendy Martin volunteered telephone workers for the weekly project, and was happy indeed to have several members volunteer at once to' assist. The draw prize for the meeting, donated by Ethel Smith was won by Daryl Davis. The minutes were adopted as read by Mrs. Beatrice McCuaig, who commended Earline John- son (who'd acted in her absence) for her ex- cellent minutes of the last meeting. Mrs. Avila Richardson presented the finan- cial statement and Mrs. Jean Crook presided for the meeting. TALK TO ME During the social hour which followed the meeting, it was remarked that the record long- held by four McCouan sisters for 'most family members working' -- Louella, Mrs. Archie Mc- Coleman; Lillian, Mrs. Frank MacDonald; Ear- line, Mrs. Ivan Johnson, and Ruth, Mrs. Leo- nard Hiller, all of whom have held offices and many times been conveners of various pro- grams, is now challenged by two sets of sis- ters, who are also sisters-in-laws, and dil- igent workers in the auxiliary - Daryl Weaver, Mrs. Jody Davis; Wendy Weaver, Mrs. Justin Martin, Gail Lidkea, Mrs. Earl Welbourne, and Brenda Lidkea, Mrs. Barry Harper. The conn- ection in this instance is because Mrs. Harp- er's husband is a brother of Mrs. Davis and Mrs. Martin. SCHREIBER TOWN TOPICS Mrs. Andrew McFall, of Thunder Bay, nee Rosemary McParland of Schreiber; was honoured by her old friends at a community shower, arr- anged in St. John's Church Hall in Schreiber on September 28th.
