PAGE I0 TERRACE BAY NEWS AUGUST 8, I974 SCHREIBER RECREATION NEWS TENNIS: Schreiber Parks and Recreation are sponsor- ing a tennis tournament on August 22 & 23. Anyone interested in playing should pick up a registration form at the Recreation Office and have it submitted by August 12, along with a registration fee of $I.00 for non-members; fr- ee for members. This tournament is open to all residents of Schreiber and Terrace Bay from the ages of IO years up. We are planning to have singles, doubles and mixed doubles matches. We will also need volunteers to aid in judging. Also a reminder that you may pick up the key from Carol Webb. She will be at the Rec- reation Office during the day and at her home at night. Carol is also giving tennis less- ons I hour per week. If you want a lesson, call the Recreation Office. Greg MacIsaac is also helping with teaching. WILDERNESS ADVENTURE: Wilderness Adventure have started into their programme with a second group now. On Thursday, August Ist they went on an overnight trip to the Longarm at the top of White Sand Lake. The students are very interested and there are future plans to take them to the Slates, Ouimet Canyon and Santoy Lake (near Jackfish). : SPORTS '74 PROGRAMME : CONGRATULATIONS are extended to KIMBERLY-CLARK OF Dic CANADA LIMITED ON YOUR FUTURE EXPANSION PROGRAM MAYFAIR HOTEL SCHREIBER This is a continuation of the Playground Programme. This programme consists of sports such as volleyball, badminton and basketball, etc. Anyone who is 4 years old up to I4 should contact the Recreation Office. There is a fee of $I.00 and the instructors will be the same as last month. * Also Arts & Crafts will be offered. WOMEN'S FITNESS: Women's Fitness have prepared a question- aire for the town of Schreiber. The question- aire is on women's rights and the group will be going out Wednesday afternoons to collect the views of the people. It would be appreciated if you would help them out as much as you can. SWIMMING: Lessons are still underway and the test date is August I4th. Our thanks to the Legion Ladies Auxiliary for sponsoring the lifeguards on the Civic Holiday, August 5th.
