BROWNIE NEWS Recently I3 brownies from Terrace Bay par- ticipated in 2 brownie pack holidays at 3 Fingers Lake at Marathon. Leaders for the camps were Marg MacDonald, Marathon; Rolande Michaud, Heron Bay; Quarter Master Pam Jones; Five Rangers, Dorothy Beasley, Dawn McKenzie, Kathy Chesnick, Diane Jones, Carla Crockford, were junior leaders and gave valuable assist- ance and shared their knowledge with the eager Brownies. Rain and fog dampened the first camp but not the enthusiasm of the girls even though many of them were under canvas for the first time. The second camp had more favorable weather and lots of outdoor activities were enjoyed. Mrs. Rita Chisholm kindly came to camp to teach crafts and the leaders and rangers were kept busy helping her and doing test work on badges. Many badges were earned and will be present ed in September at the beginning of the next brownie season. Without the willing support of the parents these young brownies would not get the chance and wonderful experience of meeting other children along the North Shore. Through the years many friendships have been made and kept among the guides and leaders, and already af- ter only the second try of Pack Holidays in this area the brownies, our youngest members of guiding, have also got penpals to write to, and are planning on next years camp already. At the close of both camps Mrs. Marg Mac- Donald presented camp crests to everyone, and auto-graph books, as best tent awards. The first camp went to Susan May, Carol Moore, Lori and Wendy Melville. The second camp went to. Shelley Velanoff, Patty Stachiw, Patty Maloney and Linda Power. Other camps from Terrace Bay were Debbie Wise, Maureen Caldwell, Lona Smith, Alison Payette, Penny Luke, Paul- ette Theriault, Sabina Buhrmann, Anita Lait- inen and Liza Helmink. Many thanks are extended to the following people for taking brownies to and from camp: D. Caldwell, P. Jones, K. May, B. Payette, A. Smith, R. Velanoff and B. Wise. OLYMPIC LOTTERY WINNERS Terrace Bay was fortunate in having six Olympic Lottery Winners in last Tuesday's draw - The D. Desrosiers', The J. Chapmans', The G. Carons', The J. Roberts, and The J. Richards - all on one ticket and Mr. Joe Commisso. Their tickets numbers won them the $I00.00 prize. STORK CLUB Born to Mr. and Mrs. Philip Birch of Schreiber, a girl on July I9, I974. kkk kkhkhhkhhhhhhh hhh The name of Mr. Brian Paulsen was erroneous- ly ommitted from last week's graduation write- up.
