JUNE 5, I974 TERRACE BAY NEWS PAGE 5 ~ BOARD OF 'EDUCATION MEETING The minutes of Meeting No. 5/74 held April 20th and the minutes of Meeting No. 6/74 were declared adopted at the May 25th meeting of the Lake Superior Board of Education held in Manitouwadge. The minutes of Meeting No. 37 of the Train- able Retarded Children's Advisory Committee were acknowledged as received. Disbursements for the month of April, totaled $291,564.13. The Board approved the dropping of the French Headship, effective August 3I, I974, and approved the Position of Responsibility of Co-ordinator of the Intermediate Technology Program at the Lake Superior High School, eff- ective September I, I974. Approval has been 1974, re: School Bus Signals. Board employees G.R. Saumur, R.D. Bailey, B.N. Lever of Manitouwadge; T. Cooper of Mara- thon; and E.O. Saranpaa, K.P. Hougesen of Terr -ace Bay have indicated an interest in purch- asing the Board-owned residences they curren- tly occupy as tenants. : The following committees have authority to proceed with transaction details as per Board policy: Manitouwadge - E. Non-callable debentures will be paid from the Reserve Fund for those teacherages within said debenture that are sold to employees. The Board approved the 1974-75 Transpor- tation Contract with North Shore Transit Limited, in the amount of $61,659.00. By-Law No. 24 being a By-Law to-establish the rates in the unor- ganized Townships of Pick (Heron Bay), Jack- fish, Port Coldwell and Rossport, for the year 1974 was approved. The increase of 30% in the 1974 Affiliation Fee to the Northern On- tario Public and Secon- dary School Trustee's Association, in the amount of $201.60, with the request that same be forwarded to the Ontario School Trustees Council was approved.
