The Korpelas are now visiting them and Mrs. Lil Parent. Mrs. George Legault of Montreal is visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J.D. Bryson. Lester McCuaig is in Wellesley Hospital, Toronto for treatment. Miss Betty McGuire is visiting in Newcastle, New South Wales, Australia. Mr. and Mrs. Harry Jartus of Oliver, B.C. are her visiting old friends. Lloyd Whiting of Thunder Bay spent the week- end with D'Arcy Furlonger. GUILLET SHOWER: Miss Darlene Guillet, bride-elect of June 8, was honoured at a shower-tea arranged in St. Receiving with her were Miss Jane Duggan, Mrs. Walter Guillet (her mother) and Mrs. Leopold Saindon, her fiance's mother of Geraldton. Tea was poured by Mrs. Gerald Thrower, Mrs. Dennis Lacroix, Mrs. Aime Jean and Mrs. Eileen Christianson. Servitors were the Misses Lynn Cormier, Sharon Scott, Mary Lynne O'Brien, Michelle Bedard, Darlene Fummerton and Linda Huard. Mesdames Margaret Godin, John Spillane, John Handel, Ralph Morrill, Neil Nesbitt, Reg Bailey and Douglas Spillane replenished. The gifts were opened by Anne Bailey and Jocelyn Guillet and the guest book attended by Karen Thrower. EASTERN STAR VISITS: Mrs. Dorothy Rummery, District Deputy Ma- tron, District I7, Order of Eastern Star, Ab. Farrow, Worthy Patron, Mrs. Alice Farrow, Mrs. Doris Almos, and Mrs. Helen Wallace, past Matrons, all of Silver Birch Chapter, Terrace Bay, attended meetings of the Green Gables Chapter, in Thunder Bay and Kanella Chapter in Atikokan. The purpose of their attendance was to honour the official visit of Mrs. Edna Dob- bs, Worthy Grand Matron of the Grand Chapter of Ontario and her suite of officers from the Grand Chapter. . Jack Rummery volunteered as driver trip allowing the others to enjoy the for the outing. LAKE SUPERIOR HIGH SCHOOL VICTORIOUS: Lake Superior High School won the N.S.S.A. A.A. Track and Field championship for the third consecutive year at Manitouwadge on Wednesday, May 22nd. Final point standings - Lake Superior 242%; Wawa 20I%; Manitouwadge 174%; Geraldton 159%; Nip-Rock I23. . Lake Superior High School results in the N.W.0.S.S.A. Track and Field results in May 25th competitions. Midget girls - Rachel Pil- on 3rd in 80M hurdles; Carol Vanderkam 4th in high jump, 5th in discus; Junior girls - Arle- ne Krause - 3rd in 80M hurdles; 3rd in long jump, 2nd in high jump. Senior Girls - Teresa Falzetta - 2nd in I00 metre. Midget Boys-Alan Azorowski 3rd in IOO0 metre hurdles; Junior Boys - Robert Vanderkam - 2nd in discus. Charles Pelto 2nd in javelin. Senior Boys - Pat Herna 3rd in hurdles, 4th in shot put.
