FAGE © TERRACE BAY NEWS MAY 29,:1974 TERRACE BAY POLICE DEPARTMENT REPORT During the week of May 19-26 the Terrace Bay Folice Department responded to thirty-two gen- eral occurrences. On, May I9th the police responded to the re- port of a bear on the prowl on Kenogami Road. puring the early hours of May 23rd patroll- ing police officers disturbed two persons about to break into a local business establishment. On May 24th three charges were laid under the Liquor Control Act. Four juveniles were taken home and cautioned for consuming liquor. On May 25th a minor accident occurred on Highway 17, later the same day a second accide- nt occurred with damage in excess of $I000. A charge of careless driving was laid in this case. During the early hours of Sunday morning a visit was paid to a local residence which re- sulted in charges under the Narcotics Control Act. % There were five charges under the Highway Traffic Act. Seven motor vehicles were spot checked with four warnings being issued. One transient was checked with CPIC. The Terrace Bay Police Department wish to thank all business establishments and local organizations who provided trophies for the bicycle rodeo held in the arena on May 18th. The rodeo was attended by 82 children with the main trophy being won by the public school. Individual trophies were given to D'Arcy Weberg, Clifford Legacy, Lloyd Reid, Jimmy cornfield, Russell McBride, Steven Barnett, Mark Houston, Richard Gramatowski, Eleanor Depaola, Jane zwaresh and Norman Beaulieu. A special thanks to the Terrace Bay High school students who assisted with the scoring. SKI CLUB ANNOUNCEMENT The Terrace Bay Ski Club is very pleased to announce that the ngki-A-Thon" held this past season realized an income of $496. . We would like to thank all those who contri- puted financially to this event or assisted us in other ways. The money will be used in various ways to improve, operate and maintain our skiing fac- ilities. Through this type of support, we should be able to continue to provide good skiing for the people as our area despite rising costs and some disappointing winter skiing conditons. Thank You.
