PAGE 14 TERRACE BAY NEWS MAY I, I974 LIBRARY BOARD The Schreiber Public Library Board of Trus- tees were impressed with the success of the Inter-library Loan Department of the Thunder Bay Public Library, exemplified by a book this likrery had recently received. They had re- -quested "Glimpses of Northern Canada", the request passed on to eastern and western Can- adian cities, and the book finally loaned by the Inter-~loan Likrary of Memorial University of Newfoundland. \ After considering the Regional Library's Puklic Youth Project open to students with grade I2 and above, the Board asked the assis- tance of Bernard McCracken, Guidance Counsel- lor at Lake Superior High School, with appli-, cations received to be forwarded by the Libr- ary Board. The regular and new comparative audit forms which had been filled in by Miss Hadley, sec- retary-treasurer, were returned, accepted, by the Municipal auditors. Renewal of membership in the Canadian Libr- ary Trustees and the Ontario Library Trustees Association were tables for further discussion. Accounts totalling $546.43 were approved for payment. Mrs. Norah McGuire presided for the meeting on April I%th. SCHREIBER TOWN TOPICS Mr. and Mrs. Ronald McBride, who proudly welcomed their first grandchild, Ricky Doucet, on April 7th are doubly gratified, since the baby is the fifth generation in the Miller fam- ily. Hopefully, in July, when Mrs. George McBri- de (nee Harriet Miller) returns to the district from the west coast where she makes her home, a picture will be taken in Thunder Bay of, John Miller, retired CPR railroad engineer, on the Schreiber Division (who makes his home with Mr. and Mrs. G.L. McCuaig - his daughter Virgina) and who will be 97 years old, in May; Mrs. McBride, his daughter, her son Ronald, his daughter Geraldine (Mrs. Lawrence Doucet) and baby Ricky. Miss Linda Levigne, whose marriage to Frank Costa takes place in Schreiber on May 4th was honoured at a community shower-tea arranged in the Catholic Parish Centre on April 2Ist. She was assisted in receiving by her mother Mrs. Adrienne Levigne her fiance's mother, Mrs. Vincenzo Costa and Mrs. Peter Costa. Mrs. Joe Speziale was the table hostess and the servitors were Mesdames Peter Commisso, Cosimo Alfarano, Cosimo Commisso and the Miss- es Mary Veneziano, Linda Commisso, Teresa Figliomeni, Mary Costa and Roseann Speziale. Tea pourers were Mrs. Philippo Figliomeni and Mrs. Carmela Costa and the coffee poured by Mrs. Victoria Speziale and Mrs. Serafino Diano. Replenishing were Mesdames Peter Speziale, Walker St.; Joe Costa, Jim Commisso, Frank Veneziano, Frank Speziale and Cosimo Diano. The gifts were opened by the Misses Sylvia Speziale, Mary Commisso and Ida Commisso, and the guest book attended by Patricia Costa. ENGAGEMENT ANNOUNCEMENT Mr. and Mrs. H.J.
