MARCH 27, I974 TERRACE BAY NEWS PAGE I3 KINSMEN-KINETTES ANNUAL MEETING The Schreiber Kinsmen and Kinettes enjoyed a smorgasbord dinner in the Anglican Church "hall, going on from there to the town hall for their annual joint meeting. During the meeting, Brian Birch, president of the Kinsmen, presented George Riley with his Life Membership in the Association, the highest honour they could bestow in apprecia- tion of his 22 years work with the Club. Kinette president, Edythe Cosgrove present- ed Mrs. Eva Gordon with a plaque honouring her for 26 years membership in the Kinettes including 2I years of perfect attendance, giv- ing a resume of the club activities Eva has taken part in. Neil Foot was welcomed into the Kinsmen, and new member tabs were presented to Wayne Stewart and Bob Turner for bringing in new Kinsmen into the club. ; In his address Brian Birch announced the Schreiber club will be officially chartering the new Terrace Bay Kinsmen Club in Terrace Bay on April 5th. Special guests at the occasion will be George Irving, the National President and Don Hutton, the District Govern- or, with Kinsmen from all over the zone also in attendance. The Kinsmen Club of Schreiber is now known as the Kinsmen Club of Schreiber Incorporated, this new status recognized on January 8, I974 and their letters of Patent recently received from the Minister of Consumer and Commercial Relations, John V. Clement. Mr. Birch announced the winner of the Kinsmen's last ticket-selling venture,.an air fare trip for two, and $100.00 spending money, to see Boston play the Leafs, in Toron- to, was won by Larry Davis. The draw, with Wayne Stewart as chairman, was sold out and the Club most grateful for the public's support. The evening ended with a social and dance, music provided by the Commisso band. McCuaig. Mr. and Mrs. Barrie Garnet and son Uri, of Cape Breton, visited with Mr. and Mrs. Lester McCuaig last week. SHOWER-TEA HONOURS DOROTHY SLATER Miss Dorothy Slater, who was honoured at a shower-tea held in St. John's Anglican Church hall, on March I6th, was assisted in receiving by her mother, Mrs. A.W. Slater, Mrs. F.V..Har -ness her aunt, and Mrs. Bill Miller, the hostess. Tea pourers were Mrs. J.D. Bryson and Mrs. Ted Wilson, Mrs. B. Thornsteinson and Miss Gwen Hadley. The servitors were the Misses Mary Soricd, Linda Lengyel, Cathy Doig, Arlene Krause, Laura Reynolds, Heather and Moira Brown. Mesdames D.Q. Hamilton, Norman Glad, L.V. Bourke, and D.H. Brown and Miss Joyce Cluette replenished. The gifts were opened by Mrs. Walter Wilkes and Mrs. Dominic Figliomeni and the guest book attended by Rhonda Miller. The most attractive decorations in the hall were done by Mrs. Wilkes and Miss Hadley.
