Johnston was re-elected Chairman of the Board of Governors of The Confederation College of Applied Arts and Technology at the final Board meeting of the year held Saturday at the college. Dr. Johnston has been Chair- man since I967. Also re-elected were Mrs. A. Avis, of Fort Frances; as Vice-Chairman of Faculty and Student Affairs; and W.H. Spicer of Thunder Bay, as Vice-Chairman of Finance and Property. Others on the Board are: W.E. Bryan, L.A. Campbell, E.R. Cook, R.XK.B.' Dunlop, J.N. Davidson, D.R. Delahunt, E. Laprade, Mrs. E. Powell and R.R. Steele. Jeanny May who recently received her B.A. from Guelph University is home with her parents Mr. and Mrs. Douglas May. Roy Davis and Fred Starz of Toronto will be with Mr. and Mrs. Ken Davis and John Small also of Toronto with Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Small PROPANE DEATHS Six Ontario residents have died as a result of carbon monoxide escaping from defective 1 propane stoves and refrigerators so far this year. Ten persons died in I972. The Ontario Provincial Police Advises res- idents utilizing this kind of equipment to have it installed and serviced regularly by a licenced propane fitter familiar with these units. | Propane equipment with a blocked flue pass- age or with a burner improperly adjusted or partially plugged can produce deadly carbon monoxide fumes. Tourists, campers, ice fish- ers, hunters and others with portable propane cooking and heating units should ensure ade- quate ventilation while using them.
