PAGE 28 TERRACE BAY NEWS PRE-CHRISTMAS TURKEY ROLL-OFF Members of the Terrace Bay Bowling Associa- tion took part in a Pre-Christmas Turkey Roll- Off during their regular league schedules this week. Turkeys were awarded for the high single game with handicap in each league, as well as a runner-up prize. In the Mixed League, Adeline Daley rolled 329 scratch ~- 379 w/hcp for ladies high and John Gross 331 scratch - 376 w/hcp for the men, closely followed by Ev Boutilier with 306 scratch - 333 w/hcp and Joe Figliomeni with 3I8 scratch - 366 w/hcp as runner-up. Winner in the Ladies Afternoon League was Dora Garvin who bowled 3II scratch - 377 w/hcp with runner-up, Margaret Hartmann scoring 225 scratch - 296 w/hcp. Liz Malashewski took high score in the Ladies Evening League with 25I scratch - 3I6 w/hcp, with Audrey Trodd as runner-up scoring 24I scratch - 3II w/hcp. The executive would like to say "Good Bowl- ing" and "Congratulations" to the winners and extends a sincere "Thank You" to Mr. Tony Costa for donating the runner-up awards. WOMEN'S INSTITUTE DECEMBER MEETING Members of the Schreiber Women's Institute answered roll call at their December meeting with telling what Christmas means to them. They also presented a donation to a hamper which will be used as a draw prize at their monster penny auction in May. Each member was asked to donate a prize every month starting in January for the May .event, which will be convened by Mrs. John Morris. Motto for the meeting was "It is more profitable to give than to receive." Current events such as the building of the Medical Centre and the official opening of the Chimo Club rooms were discussed. Literature was received from the Home Econ- omist regarding Block Printing, and, from the " Department of Consumer Affairs information about the dangers of improper use of charcoal briquets, and the warning to heed the symbols on household products. : Mrs. Joe Campbell reported sending cards and attending the Hamper Committee meeting. A telegram contest was won by Mrs. Eunice Bolan and the $25.00 money draw was won by Mrs. Annie Niemi. "Mrs. Ann Todesco presided for the meeting.
