PAGE I8 TERRACE BAY NEWS DECEMBER I2, I973 SCHREIBER LIBRARY NEWS Schreiber Public Library Board at their regular monthly meeting expressed their satis- faction with the selection of books brought by Ralph Vanier from the Regional library, when an exchange of 483 books was made. They' were grateful also, to the several young peo- ple who assisted in carrying the books in from the van. Members were pleased to receive a list from Confederation College, Thunder Bay, -off- ering bibliographies on many subjects, from which the following were selected: Art, Nurs- ing; Civil Engineering; Mental Retardation and Writing. Out Outstanding accounts of $424.86 were approved for payment. A set of books popular with young readers was re-ordered for the shelves. It was noted the board has I5 credits on the Book of the Month plan. The resignations of Mrs. Inez McCuaig, chairman and Mrs. Rita McGrath were accepted with regret. Miss Gwen Hadley, secretary-treasurer, re- ported receiving the Government grand an increase of $II37.00 over 1972. Word has been .received of the death, at 90 years of age, of Mrs. Sivana Patunade form- er resident of Schreiber, in Fields, Ontario on December 8th. Mrs. Patunade was the sis- ter of Mr. Edmund Nicol and she made many friends during the years she spent in Schrei- ber when her husband was the B & B Master for the C.P.R. : Ten rinks competed in the resent Fun Bon- spield of the Schreiber Curling Rink with winners as follows: Ist Event - Frank Walker, Kay Fraser, Lil MacDonald, Colleen Gautherier; runners-up - Paul Gauthier, Gordon Lark, Nic 'Racioppi, Brenda Harper. 2nd Event - Alex Krystia, Huge Holmes, Rick Deitrich, Rose Halonen; runners-up = John Halonen, John Whetter, Eddie Birch, Don Gellert. The biggest end went to Frank Walker's rink with Colleen Gauthier coming closest to the button. v "I AM carving the turkey."
