DECEMBER 12, 1973 TERRACE BAY NEWS PAGE I5 Sports Slants - continued The 64 goals that the 'Big 4' of the Bruins had scored as of last Tuesday represented about 69 per cent of the team's total goals.. Now isn't that something! Just one more thing about the Bruins' Fan- tastic Foursome. If they should happen to keep up their fabulous scoring ways and wind up with the totals I've already mentioned in this column, it would mean that Espesito, Hodge, Cashman and Orr would wind up with just 117 goals less than the whole team managed to score last season -- 330. ~ And that, friends, are some statistics!'! SPORTS SHORTS: That Marcel Dionne of Detroit Red Wings must be a real k-i-d. Can't rememb- er when he's been happy with the team since he joined the NHL and the Wings. He got to lik- ing coach Johnny Wilson last year, but when he went into a slump, he got moody and was bench- ed for a couple of games. This year, he could -n't get along with initial coach Ted Garvin, so again he was benched. Then when Alex Delvecchio took over the reins, he said he was happy again and that he's be happy to play for Fats. Now, he wants to be traded. The troub- le with Dionne, I think, is that he was a big hero as a junior and could score almost at will. Now that he's in the NHL, goals don't dome as easily and he doesn't like it, He's only got one so far this year. Isn't that just too bad, when baby can't have his lolli- POD: sivisina's Piedmont College of Demorest, Ga. recently broke what is believed to be the longest losing streak in college basketball history. Piedmont beat Toccoa Falls 81-77. It broke a 52-game losing streak that dates back to all of last season..... .
