TERRACE BAY POLICE DEPARTMENT REPORT During the past week members of the Police Department *investigated a total of twenty occurrences. Three break, enter and theft offences occur- red during the week. These taking place at Moon's Texaco, the Moose Hall and a local res- idence. A juvenile has been interviewed and charges may be laid. Further investigations are being made regarding an older person who is known to have been involved. Three thefts of property under $200.00 in value were reported and are being investigated. On October I9th, police and fire responded to a fire alarm involving a hut near the golf course. The hut was destroyed. Five motor vehicles were spot checked and three warnings issued. Considerable time was spent during the weekend searching for a I4 year old girl who had been reported missing from home. She re- turned home late on Sunday morning. In Court last week, Judge Mitchel presided, were Joseph Desaulniers, Paul Belliveau and Roger Meister. They were remanded for two weeks on a charge of break, enter and theft. Norbert Laderoute, of Marathon, pleaded not guilty to a charge of impaired driving, with Peter Dube acting as defence counsel. After hearing police evidence, Judge Mitchel return- ed a guilty verdict and imposed a fine of $320.00. Laderoute had blown 3.2 on the breathelyzer. ROSSPORT TOWN TOPICS Mr. and Mrs. Lenard Ibey have returned from a holiday in Thunder Bay and Kenora. . Mr. and Mrs. C. Henderson are enjoying a holiday in touring Eastern Canada. Mrs. Mary Boudreau has returned to Timmins after holidaying with relatives in Terrace Bay and Rossport. Mr. and Mrs. Pat Leisander of Thunder Bay visited Mr. and Mrs. Mac Hubelit and other acquaintances here recently. Mrs., Audry Nicol has returned from Toronto and Mrs. Anne Todesco has returned from a holiday in Thunder Bay. Mr. and Mrs. Grant of Fort Frances are visiting their daughter and son-in-law Mr. and Mrs. Felix Legault. Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Legault holidayed in Duluth, Minn. recently. Peter Legault of Thunder Bay spent the weekend at his parental home here. Mr. and Mrs. Dave Iddison and baby Jasin of Toronto are visiting Mr. and Mrs. Dave Mush- quash and other relatives here. continued page 20 CURLING NEWS On Thursday, October 18, the semi-annual meeting of the Terrace Bay Men's Curling Club was held. At this meeting, several important items of business were discussed and the fol- lowing were resolved; The dues for 1973-74 be as follows - Men Curlers $35.00; Associate members $20.00; cur- lers 18 years of age and still a student $15.00 . The same method of team selection as last year with the following change - Any curler will be allowed to pick up and protect one or more new curlers. (New defined as not having been a member of the Terrace Bay Men's Curling Club during the last three years). At the end of the first round, these new members will be rated by the rating committee and placed in proper position. Also, discussion was held as to the possibi=- lity of hiring a bar steward to work the hours of 6:00-9:00 each evening. It was resolved that this be left to the bar chairman. For all those interested in curling this year, please see the ad in this week's paper and contact one of the members of the member- ship committee. We plan to start curling Mon- day, November 12 and ask that all curlers new and old contact us by Wednesday, November 7th.
