The tournament as usual ran two days, 18 holes a day, during the first weekend of September highlighting the near end of another year of golf. After the first day of golf K. Hanley was leading with T. Costa and P. Spadoni trailing. The tables turned after the first nine holes the next day when Tony held a 4 stroke lead over both K. Hanley and P. Spadoni. It look- ed for a while that Tony was going to run away with it but Kenny Hanley kept shaving strokes off and on the I8th hole sunk a 25 foot putt to force a playoff. A good gallery followed both Tony and Kenny to the I9th hole for a sudden-death playoff. Tony finished it on the first hole of play- off getting a par while Kenny got a boggie.
