PAGE I4 TERRACE BAY NEWS AUGUST 22, I973 TERRACE BAY SWIM TEAM CAPTURES MUELLER TROPHY This past Saturday, August I8th, a contin- gent of 40 Terrace Bay swimmers travelled to Manitouwadge to compete in the annual North Shore Swim meet. This particular trip was of great importance to the swimmers as they were faced with the task of defending the Mueller Trophy, which is emblematic of the championship at the North Shore meet. When all 66 events were completed and un- official total points announced, Terrace Bay took first place with a margin of 2I2 points over the second place team. Unofficial team totals First - Terrace Bay - 468 points Second - Manitouwadge ~- 256 points Third = Red Rock - 248 points Fourth - Marathon - 128 points It is hoped that the official point totals will be announced sometime this week and it is likely that there will be adjustments to the unofficial scores. Congratulations are certainly in order to the entire Terrace Bay swim team, particularly the coaches W. McMillan and J. Turner, along with the swim pool summer staff who assisted the team at the meet. In addition to winning the North Shore meet, Terrace Bay swimmers took 6 out of the IO in- dividual trophies which are presented to the bovs and girls in the various age categories. The 6 Terrace Bay swimmers were as follows: Robbie Thompson - boys, IO years and under Carol Ann Osmar - girls, IO years and under Judy Zwaresh - girls, I4 and under Nancy Bouchard - girls, I6 and under Robert Vanderkam - boys, I6 and under Wendy McMillan - ladies open. One remaining meet of the year that our team will compete in will be the Northwestern Ontario swim meet which will be held this com- ing Saturday, August 25th in Thunder Bay. Mr. and Mrs. Roger Beaulieu and Davis have had Mrs. Beaulieu's nephew Peter Walchuk of St. Catherines visiting with them recently.
