Everyone participated good-naturedly and it was hilarious to watch the outcome - Norman Beaulieu and Ed Gramatow- ski have now been introduced to the free art of shaving, which could be quite useful to them in later years if they replace the pop- sicle sticks for the real thing! This week is the final week of the Play- ground programme for this summer. Included in the wind-up events is a Family Entertainment Night this Thursday evening at 7:00 p.m. in the High School auditorium. It is shaping up to be a really great show and parents and fri- ends are cordially invited to attend. Winners of the Poster Contest will also be awarded Thursday night. SWIM POOL NOW IN OPERATION: At the time of this write-up, new parts had arrived for the return pump at the pool and the pool was back in normal operation. We apologize for any inconvenience caused to the general public last week while we were exper- iencing these mechanical difficulties. With the co-operation of the Public Health Inspec- tor, we were able to work out a system to keep the pool open to the public while our pump was down. It is important to point out to the general public that from time to time mechanical daiff- iculties will arise, causing inconvenience to the swimmers. SWIM CLASSES-IMPERATIVE THAT YOU ATTEND: We are now on to the last leg of our instr- uctional programme for the summer. ing and tests of the various categories will be taking place next week so it is imperative that all swimmers attend the remaining swim classes. Results of our July set of classes were excellent and it is hoped that the August results will be comparable. It is up to you, the swimmer, to put the amount of work and practise required into the classes to be able to pass your tests. SWIM POOL SCHEDULE TO BE ALTERED: Once the August set of classes is complet- ed, the pool schedule will be altered for the first week or two in September to allow for as many people as possible to take part in the open swim sessions before closing the pool. Details of the revised swim pool schedule will definitely be announced in next week's News. Pre-test- TERRACE BAY SWIM TEAM: Congratulations to the Terrace Bay swim team in winning the North Shore Swim Meet ' which was held in Manitouwadge this past week- end. Please refer to page I4 for more details in this regard. The best of luck to our swim team when they travel to Thunder Bay this Saturday, August 25th, to compete in what will be the annual Northwestern Ontario Swimming Championships. MINOR BALL PROGRAMME: Inasmuch as the various league playoffs are now complete, the next objective will be to arrange some out-of-town games for the var- ious leagues. Out-of-town ball practises will start this week. POWER'S CELEBRATE 25TH ANNIVERSARY When Mr. and Mrs. John Power renewed their wedding vows on their 25th anniversary, in Holy Angels Roman Catholic-Church in Schreiber, Father Topp officiated and a host of relations and friends attended. Mr. and Mrs. Alex Power hosted a number of out of town relatives in their home in Schreiber and at their camp at White Sand Lake. During the buffet dinner, arranged in the Power's home, and throughout the evening party, many lovely gifts were presented.
