Considerably enjoyed more by parents, since during these grades, teeth were frequently missing, and the resultant statement was often uttered as "Mith Hadley thaid Tho,". And never within living knowledge has any parent disputed the statement. In Public Tribute to the 36 years that Miss Hadley spent teaching in the Schreiber Public School, a reception was held in her honour in the school auditorium, on June 27th., when re- ceiving with Miss Hadley were E.J. Morgan, re- tiring Director of Education; R.A. Cressman, incoming Director of Education; T. Quinton, vice-principal, Schreiber Public School; the Rev. Rex Dye and Mrs. Walter Klassen, Pres- ident and Vice-President of the Home and School Association. The tea was poured by Mesdames Ethel Smith- eman, J.D. Bryson, R.G. Macadam, Wesley Clem- ens, W.G. Furlonger and Alex Gordon. The dainty small tables were served by the Grade 7 and 8 girls and Mrs. Walter Wilkes, sis -ter of Miss Hadley attended the guest regis- ter. Among those assisting were former pupils - Florence Fischer (Didych), Ruth Hiller (McCou- an), and Earline Johnson (McCouan) with Flora Bryson, Marg Spillane, Betty Ann Klassen, Mur- iel Lark, Mary Swonson, Sandy Quinton and ass- ociates on the school staff, plus the invalu- able assistance of Tom Quinton and Williard Robitaille as "Flunkies". Following the formal welcome by Mrs. Shirley Brown, M.C. for the program, the many letters and messages of congratulations from former students ranging from Coast to Coast in Cana- da, Africa and U.S. long gone from Schreiber, and a special message of congratulation from the Hon. William Davis, Premier of Ontario, were read by Mr. Cressman. This was followed by the presentation of many gifts including a crystal bud vase from the Local Women Teacher's Association by Yvonne West. A beautiful book on birds from the Schreiber Public School, presented by three former pupils (now members of the staff), Glorie Miller, Nancy Spillane and Edie Clemens. A fully equipped Artists Box from the Home and School by Rev. Rex Dye. R.A.
