The Scouts have volunteered to be in charge of crowd control on the corners of the circuit. The race is to be held in the Elizabeth, Superior, Princess Ave. area. The organizers hope that everyone living on these streets will help to keep children and pets off the roads on this day for some of these cyclists can reach a fast speed and a few spills are certain -ly expected. Barriers will be erected across Fort Garry Road and Lakeview Drive at Highway I7 for a short while to stop traffic, emergencies being the exception. It should be an exilarating experience for the ladies and men entering this enduring and breathtaking event. Everyone is urged to come and watch and en- joy this early morning spectacular ride. Reeve Bray will donate a 'Reeve Trophy' for the Annual event, and small individual troph- ies will be presented to the first three winn- ers in the ladies and mens races. All participants are to report to the inter -section of Fort Garry Road and Elizabeth Ave. at 9:30 a.m. sharp. Register with Pam Jones, the Recreation Office prior to July Ist ox submit your form at 9:30 Sunday morning. Competition is open to anyone I4 years of age and up. SUNDAY, JULY IST = II:30 A.M. Ecumenical Service The community is invited to bring their families and friends to an out-door Community Thanksgiving Service, sponsored by the parish- ioners of the Terrace Bay Community Church and St. Martin's Roman Catholic Church. This service will be conducted entirely by lay people and will take place Sunday, July Ist at II:30 a.m. in Centennial Park. In the event of inclement weather the service will be held in the Arena. SUNDAY, JULY IST - I:30 P.M. - 4:30 P.M. Beer Garden-Barbeque Terrace Bay Band in attendance This programme is designed for the entire family. I:30. P.M. Costume Judging - first consideration given to the costume designed to best represent Can- ada. Prizes will be awarded to the children who best design their own costumes. No cate- gories for bicycles. Watch for flyer for further information. 2:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. Children's treats to be cashed in at barbeque Tickets for children 2-I4 years of age are being distributed by the Royal Canadian Legion door-to-door this week. All the events from I:30 - 4:30 p.m. will be held at Simcoe Plaza adjacent to the Municipal Office. Be sure and watch for the flyer to be delivered to your home this week.
