The second event was won by Barry Harper's rink, Edie Birch, Bob McKenna and Shane Riley. The third event was won by Mike Corrigan's rink, Joyce Cluett, Linda Fraser and Chris Stewart. Also presented were the season trophies - The Riley Trophy to George Riley, Edgar Le- Blanc, Harold Gllert and Russell Saarinen; The Club Trophy to Paul Gauthier, Jim Mooney, Cathy Cocks, Edith Clemens. The event ended with a dance, music by Fred McColeman and Doug Moore. The men's club have elected their new slate of officers: George Riley, president; Brian Birch, treasurer; D'Arcy Furlonger, secretary; Frank Walker, first vice-president; Ray Cook, second vice-president; Edgar Ray, Barry Harper Eric Handel, Paul Gauthier, Geoff. This season, the Figure Skating Club invit- ed mothers to skate with beginners, a most successful innovation. Eighty some children, counting pre-schoolers, were enrolled, taught by Laurie Nealin of Thunder Bay, assisted by Nancie Spillane, Schreiber. Many of the children obtained the National Skating Badge. The club is particularly proud of the arrangements for the carnival, carried out by young skaters Susan Johnson, Anne Bailey and Linda Huard. A summer school will be held this year in Thunder Bay from 2-6 weeks' duration and those wishing to attend may secure further informa- tion from Mrs. Audrey McKay. McCuaig. , The Anglican Church Women held a very brisk business session for their regular April meet- ing, and then adjourned to make their famous Easter eggs and chocolates, hand-dipped. Bus- iness, this year, has more re-doubled that of previous ones, with patrons forsaking diets to indulge in the toothsome sweets. Mr. and Mrs. Peter Kachur and daughter Colleen of Rorkaton, Man. are visiting Mrs. Kachur's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Pear- son. ROSSPORT TOWN TOPICS Thunder Bay visitors during the week were Mr. and Mrs. R.T. Kenney, Mr. and Mrs. Mac Hubelit, Alex Swaresh and Mrs. Anne Todesco. Thos. Wesley visited relatives at Pays Plat during the week. Mr. and Mrs. Vernon King have left for their home in Marmora, Ontario. Mrs. C.W. Todesco has returned from a hol- iday spent with relatives in Sioux Narrows. The School Recreation Committee held a cri- bbage tournament in the School Hall. Eleven tables were played in the four events. Winn- ers of the first event were Mr. & Mrs. N. Bain, second event,Herb Legault & Ben Lespinski, third,Mrs. Bouchard and Mrs. Ibey and fourth split between Ken Bowliers and the Art Huards. Romeo Bouchard and Chas Wilde were in charge of refreshments and a buffet lunch was served.
