In- structors will be making their decisions this Saturday and all players will be notified accordingly. Needless to say, attendance at Junior Badminton sessions will be the top priority of the Instructors. Tf needed a series of games will be played by some players to determine who will partici- pate in the North Shore Tournament. All players should attend this Saturdays session at I0:00 a.m. North Shore Junior Badminton Tournament - May 5th: The Recreation Department in conjunction with the Adult Badminton Club will be sponsor- ing the first ever North Shore Junior Badmin- ton Tournament in Terrace Bay on May 5th. Communities such as Manitouwadge, Marathon and Schreiber will be competing with players from Terrace Bay for the trophies in the following events: Boys and Girls Singles, Boys and Gir- 1s Doubles and Mixed Doubles. The general public is invited to attend the games played throughout the Tournament. The first games are scheduled to get underway at 9:00 a.m. Experience '73: Are you aware of the different programmes offered by the Ontario Youth Secretariat and in turn the types of summer jobs you may apply for? A total of seventeen different programmes are available to you; all you must do is de- cide which programme (s) interest you = and app- ly. The closing date for all 'applications is June 30th. For more information on Experience '73 con- tact the Recreation Office or the Guidance Office at your school. Summer Job Opportunities: As mentioned in last weeks News, a full page advertisement will be published in the Terrace Bay News next week. This year all interested persons will be asked to submit a letter of application for the position they are interested in as opposed to filling out a standard "summer job" form. Two or three more positions may be offered this summer if the Youth-in-Action projects as submitted by the Recreation Department are approved by the Sports and Recreation Branch of the Ministry of Social and Community Ser- vices. A final decision in this regard will not be known until the second or third week of May. TERRACE BAY POLICE DEPARTMENT REPORT A total of nineteen occurrences were inves- tigated last week by the Terrace Bay Police Department. Two Highway Traffic Act charges were laid; one Liquor Control Act offence charges and nine motor vehicles checked for faulty equip- ment. With reference to an item appearing in last week's Council News: It is not the intent of the Police Department to recommend the banning of parking on both sides of Hudson and Laurier. The recommendation was that additional signs be placed on Hudson on the same side and in conjunction with the present "no parking" signs, on one side of the street.
