North Shore Junior Badminton Tournament: The first annual North Shore Junior Badmin- ton tournament will be held in Terrace Bay on Saturday, May 5th. The tournament will be held at the Terrace Bay campus auditorium beginning at 10:00 a.m. Thus far the communities of Manitouwadge, Marathon and Schreiber will be competing. More information on this tournament will be announced later. Junior Badminton This Saturday: Junior Badminton sessions will resume this coming Saturday, April 21st. Participants are urged to attend this session as information on the North Shore Tournament will be covered. Session begins at 10:00 a.m. Terrace Bay Recreation Department - Summer Staff: Within the next week or two an advertisement will be placed in the Terrace Bay News to announce summer staff positions available thr- ough the Department. Keep your eyes open for this advertisement as it will contain infor- mation on how you can make application. HAS ANNUAL MEETING St. Martin of Tours Catholic Women's Lea- gue held their monthly and annual meeting on Sunday, April 8 at 8 p.m. in the Church Hall. The rosary was recited in the Church prior to the meeting. Mrs. G. Ramsay, president, opened the meet- ing with the League Prayers and a few words of welcome. Mrs. G. Dashkewytch read a passage from the Jerusalem Bible. Mrs. P. Malashewski read the minutes of the last meeting and Mrs. F. Helmink gave the treasurer's report. Then the various committee chairmen gave their reports. Church Life - Mrs. A. Regis read a passage from the March Issue of the Catholic Women's magazine entitled - "Fostering Vocations." Social Action - Mrs. J. Falzetta, comment- ed on an article in the League Magazine on' "Peace, the Impossible Dream" which tells what we can do at home and in our recreation time to help bring peace. She also commented on the high meat prices and suggested we try more meatless dishes. ; Mrs. Ramsay announced that the Auction Sale was cancelled until the Fall and that Mrs. G. Dashkewytch had volunteered to cater for the official opening of the new gym at St. Martin Separate School - about 250 guests are expected for this. Mrs. G. Dashkewytch adjourned the General meeting and Mrs. G. Ramsay opened the Annual Meeting with her Annual Report followed by the annual reports of all the committees. Mrs. G. Dashkewytch moved the reports be adopted as read and Mrs. G. Ramsay turned the meeting over to the nominating committee chairman Mrs. R. Fournier. Mrs. Fournier spoke on the procedure of the election of the officers and gave a list of the new Catholic Women's League Executive - President Mrs. G. Ramsay; Secretary - Mrs. R. Salesse; Treasurer - Mrs. R. Gerlach; 2nd Vice Presi- dent - Mrs. J. Kennedy; lst Vice President - Mrs. B. Lapenski; and 3rd Vice President - Mrs. R. Belliveau. These members will be installed after mass at a later date. Rev. Father A. Greengrass led in the closing prayers followed by Holy God We Praise Thy Name and O Canada. A social hour followed.
