Those rumors a few years ago that the Leaning Tower of Pisa was slanting more and more every year and was in dan -ger of someday falling, was only part- ly true. Experts say that the Tower didn't budge during I972. The 800-year -0ld Tower even withstood an earth tremor last year without falling. It is currently I4 feet off centre with the slant increasing by less than 1/25 of an inch annually They've developed a train in England that travels at over I00 miles an hour and never actually touches the tracks. It's called an Hovertrain and it was built at a cost of $I3 million in U.K. government funds. The special tracks used for the train cost something like $2.5 million a mile, so it appears the Hovertrain's life will be shortlived .
