FEBRUARY 28, I973 TERRACE BAY NEWS PAGE 9 NORMAN A. GROZELLE RETIREMENT PARTY A retirement party was held honouring Nor- man A. Grozelle, at the Masonic Hall, Terrace Bay, on February I7th, I973 by the Ministry of Natural Resource's Employees. A lovely smorgasbord supper and dance was enjoyed by his many friends. A huge plaque featuring Norman's past em- ployment history and background was designed with a big WELCOME TO NORM "HAB" GROZELLE. Norman being a very ardent Montreal Canadien's fan was presented with a hockey stick signed by the team players and a sweater. B.J. Lapenskie was M.C. and presented Norman with two pieces of luggage for his happy travels. Montreal Canadiens, most avid fan was born in Callander, Ontario. His school years were spent in Callander and North Bay. His first job was at J.B. Smith, Lumber Contractor, as tallyman I930-1934. Resigned as tallyman and accepted 'higher paying' position with C.B. Gordon Lumber Con- tractor, North Bay, from I935-4I. Enlisted with Royal Canadian Air Force and served in the European operations from I94I-46. Norman commenced employment with the Ontar- io Provincial Government in the Lands and For- ests Timber Branch in North Bay, in I947. He was then transferred to MacDiarmid Division in July of '57 to the Forest Protection Branch He moved to Longlac Division in I959, and was assigned to the District Office, Geraldton in August 1964. Moved back to Longlac Division, September I964 Timber Branch, moved south to MacDiarmid Division, June I966, transferred back to Geraldton District office, April 1967, Parks Branch. In June I97 he was transferred to Pays Plat Division, Parks and then to Terrace Bay in I968 to present. Norman's last day of work continued page 14. .......
