FEBRUARY I4, 1973 TERRACE BAY NEWS PAGE I5 RETIREMENT PARTY FOR IRENE SPICER Miss Irene (Queenie) Spicer, who recently retired as secretary-treasurer of the Schreiber] Hydro Commission, was honoured by friends in Schreiber and Terrace Bay at a party held in St. John's Church hall. Receiving with Miss Spicer were her sister, Mrs. Hubert Weaver and Mrs. J.D. Bryson. on behalf of friends Mrs. Bryson presented a book to Miss Spicer saying they were certain it would prove interesting reading - as indeed it would - the novel volume having its pages covered with bills of varying values. Mrs. W.T. Wallace presented a gift from Ruby Rebekah Lodge, of which Miss Spicer is a long-time member. The small tea tables were served by the Misses Wendy and Billie Weaver, and Mesdames Jody Davis, Barry Harper, Charlie Holmes, Bill Weaver, and Bill Stefurak. : Mesdames Bruce Simon, W.T. LEGION LITERARY CONTESTS Local winners in the Royal Canadian Legion 'National Literary Contests received their prize money at a recent ceremony in Schreiber.
