PAGE 6 TERRACE BAY NEWS JANUARY IO, I973 RECREATION NEWS Classical Accordianist To Perform in Terrace Bay on January I6th: On Tuesday, January I6th, an open free con- cert will be held at the Terrace Bay Campus auditorium beginning at 8:00 p.m. Performer _ for this open concert will be Mr. Joseph Macerollo, accordianist from Toronto. Mr. Macerollo will be in Terrace Bay and Schreiber for the entire week of January I5th through to the I9th. He will be working with the students in all schools during the day and will put on a concert in the evening in both communities during the week. This programme is being sponsored by the Ontario Council for the Arts, the Lake Super- ior Board of Education, the Terrace Bay Recre- ation Department and the Schreiber Recreation Department. Mr. Macerollo's concert on the evening of January I6th is open to the entire community free of charge. Why not take this opportunity to attend the concert? Informal Musical Workshop on January I8th: On the evening of Thursday, January I8th, Mr. Macerollo will conduct an informal musical workshop in Room 104 of the Terrace Bay campus beginning at 7:00 p.m. This informal workshop will create the opportunity for anyone in the community inter- ested in meeting Mr. Macerollo and discuss in- formally musical techniques with him. This workshop is free and you do not have to regis- ter for it. Junior Hockey Action This Week: Fresh from two straight victories, our local Junior "Superiors" will be hosting the Marathon "Mercuries" on Thursday, January IIth and will be hosting the Manitouwadge "Copper Kings" on Sunday, January I4th. Local hockey fans are encouraged to attend these games as the last home game proved to provide good, fast, wide-open hockey. Support the local "Superiors" by attending both these games. Junior Badminton Starts This Saturday: The Junior Badminton programme will resume this Saturday, January I3th, at IO a.m. Play- ers are aware of what times they should attend the sessions. Players are reminded to attend their sessions on time and to wear proper footwear. Ringette Exhibition Games: The Recreation Office is presently trying to arrange for exhibition games in Ringette with Manitouwadge. It is hoped that by the end of this week information will be available as to when the special exhibition games will be played. In the meantime, transportation will be required for two teams and if there is anyone interested in helping out the girls by driving them to Manitouwadge and back, please notify the Recreation Office. Some gas allow- ance will be made available to drivers. 1 Upholstery Course-Call Recreation Office For Information: If you are interested in taking an Uphols- tery course, be sure to call the Recreation Office for all details of the course and to officially register if you so wish.
