Educational Television - cont'd cio vs This method involves the video-taping of most of the broadcast day of OECA's anchor station, CICA- TV, Channel 19, Toronto. Packages of tapes are then shipped on a regular basis to headquarters in Terrace Bay where they will be played back over the cable distribution system. The viewer cannot tell the difference between this type of distribution and regular broadcasting distri- bution. Other Ontario communities that have taken ad- vantage of this cable service are Belleville, Picton, Brockville, Pembroke, Thunder Bay, Atikokan, Dryden, Parry Sound and Sault Ste. Marie. Terrace Bay residents will be able to do more than just watch the new television service. They will have a voice in the programming and policies of the OECA through a 15-member regional council for Northwestern Ontario. The Northwestern council was instrumental in bringing the new service fo Terrace Bay. The Board approved four new applications for ad- mission when space is available. The Administrator was requested to mail to each Board Member a list of those people on the waiting list and also a list of those presently accommodated elsewhere. The Board was informed that there has been no word from the provincial authorities about additional accommodation. The Administrator, Mr. MJ. Vibert, reported on visits made to Schreiber, Terrace Bay, Geraldton and Nipigon; also efforts are being made to visit candidates for admission that are on our waiting list. The Board of Management has been officially noti- fied that thirty-four Extended Care Residents is our quota that should be maintained in the 73 bed Pine- wood Court Home, therefore 39 Residents are consid- ered Residential Care. The Administrator was authorized to get an estimate on the costs involved in renovating the two inner care Dining Rooms.
