Forgues Appointed Euclid Forgues, Principal of Lake Superior High School for the past year and a half has received word of his appointment as Chief Executive Officer for the Kirkland Lake Separate School Board. Mr. Forgues will be heading a team of three supervisory officers with their central office in Kirkland Lake some time in the new year. As Superintendent of Schools, he will have charge of the Board's administration and be the link between it and the Minister of Education. Mr. and Mrs. Forgues will continue to reside in Schreiber for the time being. Mrs. Forgues is on staff at the Schreiber Campus. TERRACE BAY POLICE DEPARTMENT REPORT During the week ending December 3 at total of 16 occurences were investigated. On November 27 a minor accident was reported, when a number of guard rails were hit on Highway 17. The icy conditions were blamed. Also, on this date, information was received that a local resident had been defrauded of $500.00. The culprits are presently in Nova Scotia and cannot be returned. During the week six motor vehicles were spot check- ed. Three transients were checked. ' Two snow vehicle operators were charged with obstructed plates, no drivers license and no insurance. The following are extracts taken from the Motorized Snow Vehicles Act of Ontario, which may be of ass- istance to snowmobilers during the coming winter mo months. This department urges you to have fun but to have fun with safety and within the law. 1. Your snow wehicle must be registered with the Department of Transport before being operated any- where and the vehicle must show to the front the num- ber plate issued by the Department. This must be in a conspicuous position and kept clear of dirt and other obstructions. 2. No person under the age of 16 years shall operate a snow vehicle on a highway and the owner of a snow vehicle shall not permit a person under 16 years of age to operate a snow vehicle on a highway. 3. No person shall drive a snow vehicle on a highway unless he is the holder of a driver's or Chauffeurs lic- ense and no person who is the owner of a snow vehicle Cont'd on page 18.....
