Although not a veteran he has been very active in support of the Royal Canadian Legion. Mike Reid = Mr. Michael Reid was born in Fort Frances, Ontario and was educationed their and in Atikokan. He is married, with two boys and one girl. He was a teacher for four years at the Elem- entary School level teaching in Fort Frances and Fort William. Mr. Reid is presently Public Health Inspector having served four years in the Schreiber- Manitouwadge Area. He previously had served three years in this capacity in Fort William, ROSSPORT TOWN TOPICS Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Gerow of Sault Ste. Marie , visited the Mac Hubelits on the Weekend. Mrs. and Mrs. Dave Mushguash, Hilton and Della visited relatives in Geraldton during the week. Miss Laurie Anne Mushquash spent the weekend with the Ron Lanigans af Nipigon. Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Wesley and family, of Gerald- ton are visiting Robert Wesley at Pays Plat Mission. Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Greer and children spent the weekend with the Dave Mushquash family. Mrs. Caroline Cromarty of Sioux Lookout was a recent visitor here with relatives. Mrs. Bill Hubelit has returned from a holiday with relatives in Thunder Bay. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Campbell and son of Thunder Bay visited relatives here on the weekend. Sunday evening Pat McGuire of Thunder Bay was in the village to assist Non=Status Indians to form an association in this area. He held a meeting in the School Recreation center. The executive of the local group consists of President, Isadore Ray; Vice President, Walter Gerow; Secretary, Mrs. Gail Bain; and Treasurer, Mrs. Gwen Gerow. ROSSPORT CURLING CLUB Brian Ray heads the Curling Club for 1972-73 season. Other members of the executive elected at the annual meeting held Sunday evening at the Club Room were Vice President, Camilla Legault; Secre- tary, Anne Todesco; and Treasurer, Chas. Todesco. MacHubelit chaired the meeting with fourteen members present and extended a welcome to all. Minutes were approved as read and the excellent treasurers report presented by Chas. Todesco was adopted. It showed that the rink was debt free, that the insurance was paid up and existing accounts af the term's end were all paid up. The secretary, Mrs. Todesco, in presenting her year's report, showed that over seventy letters had been written, most of them seeking assistance from former players who had moved to other places in the district. Those who generously made donations to assist the club in its repair projects were Mrs. Geo. Kay, Mr. and Mrs. H. Middleton, Alfred Bull, Mr. and Mrs. Yandon, Mrs. Mary Porter, Mr. Keith Penner and Harvey Smith. Many articles had also continued on page 24.....
