NOVEMBER 22, 1972 TERRACE BAY NEWS PAGE 7 TERRACE BAY MINOR HOCKEY NEWS The Terrace Bay Minor Hockey Association held their meeting in the small meeting room of the Rec- reation Centre on November 16th at 7 p.m. Presi- dent C. Foreman chaired the meeting. An agenda of | the meeting was passed to the executive by the secre- tary. Mr. W. Robitaille secretary, read the minutes of the last meeting, which were adopted. Business arising from the minutes was discussed. Mr. Robitail- le read the correspondence. A letter of resignation from Mrs. L. Kodilla was accepted with regret. The president appointed Mr, Paul Pluta to fill the vacan- cy. The committee reports were tabled for approval . A reminder that the Skate-a-thon will be held this Saturday, November 25th, starts at 9 a.m. and goes til 6 p.m. Registration will take place in the lobby of the arena before 9 a.m. The sponsor forms were distributed to school children last week. Have these forms filled out as soon as possible and bring them with you to the registration for the Skate-a-thon. The Minor Hockey Association wish to thank the organizations for their generous donations, A coming events for December is the Peanut Blitz on December 19th and 20th. All the boys in Minor Hockey will canvass the town on these two days. Buy your Christmas peanuts and support Minor Hockey The next meeting is called for December 11th in the small meeting room of the Recreation Centre. The new Legion Hall is taking shape very well. RECREATION NEWS Girls Ringette Programme: Teams have been selected and league schedules drawn up for the girls Ringette league. Two separ- ate leagues will be operated, one for juniors and one for seniors. Games will be scheduled for Saturday mornings with open practises being held on Tuesdays and Thursdays. So far we have a total of six people who have in- dicated their willingness to assist the girls in the cap- acity of referees and coaches. We could use more volunteer help, so if you can sssist the girls, please call the Recreation Office at 3542, Minor Hockey: Last Sunday, November 19th, a total of 349 spec tators witnessed the first home games of this season for our Major Peewees, Bantams and Midgets. [It was extremely encouraging to see such a good turn- out and the Minor Hockey executive hopes that local fan support will continue throughout the season. Our boys are scheduled to play in Schreiber this weekend.
