PAGE 14 TERRACE BAY NEWS NOVEMBER 22,1972 Legion Banquet - cont'd Reeve Harness brought the good wishes of the muni- cipal council and spoke on the upcoming election. Sgt. G.M. Reynolds RCMP of Thunder Bay gave a most interesting address on various aspects of Law En- forcement and his audience asked many questions fol - lowing the talk. Sgt. Reynolds thanked the Legion for the opportunity to speak and for the hospitality offered him and his wife. Mrs. Georgina Davis, President of the Women's Auxiliary, gave a brief resume of their projects and interests and then presented a new, commercial type piano, a new large fridge, and new drapes to Gerry Nicol, Legion president. She said the auxiliary has also made a small donation to Pinewood Court, a donation of children's toys, and a blender for food, to McCausland Hospital; and is giving a second scholar- ship this year to high school students. She presented a cheque for $500.00 to the Legion. Mr, Nicol thanked the auxiliary most sincerely and went on to describe the various interests of the Legion and projects it sponsors. He also proposed a vote of appreciation to the Anglican Church Women who had prepared and served the very good dinner. Among those from out of town attending the occasion were Sgt. and Mrs. G. M. Reynolds, Thunder Bay, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Crawley of Thunder Bay, A. V. Pearson, Sudbury, John and Isobel Delaronde, Rod and Connie Bryson, and others from Terrace Bay. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Weaver, White River, Muriel Nesbitt, Sault Ste Marie and Mr. and Mrs. Peter Halonen, Ottawa. During the cabaret evening, Peter Halonen, who wrote the words for the old "Schreiber High'(school) song and designed the school's owl crest, was per- suaded to lead in a ringing rendition of the catchy old school battle hymn, : ROSSPORT TOWN TOPICS Lakehead visitors this week were Mr. and Mrs. Wm Schelling, Felix Legault, and Isadore Ray. Mr. and Mrs. Tony Minoletti, Gino Minoletti and Mrs. Kay Watchler of Thunder Bay are visiting Peter Testori and the Eugene Gerow family. George Goodchild is a patient in McCausland Hos- pital, Terrace Bay. Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Lanigan and baby have taken up residence in Nipigon for the winter season.
