PAGE 6 TERRACE BAY NEWS OCTOBER 4, 1972 GUIDES & BROWNIES MEET FOR NEW SEASON The local Association to Guides and Brownies held their first meeting of the season September 25th, in the Community Church basement chaired by president Mrs. G. Moore. The meeting opened with the Guide prayer and twelve members present. A special thank you is extended to all those who helped to sell the remainder of the Brownie Cookies. Twenty new Brownies have registered this fall making the need for Guide and Brownie leaders more | SCOUT NEWS Registrations for Cubs, Scouts and Venturers will take place on Tuesday, October 10th at 7:00 p.m. in the Scout Hall. Any new boys wishing to become members of the group are asked to register at this time. This year's fee is $7.00 for the boy and $3.50 for any adult who would like to register. A parent, preferably the father must come out and register the boy. A short meeting will precede registrations. desperate. Be expecting the Brownies and Guides out early in December with Licorice All Sorts. The monthly meetings have been changed to every third Monday of the month. The Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 223, Terrace Bay will hold a General Meeting, Sunday, October 8th at 6:30 p.m. The annual meeting will be held October 16th, with J. Desrosiers and S. Caron as hostesses. Come and bring a friend. The meeting ended with a lovely lunch served by G. Moore and R. McBride. TERRACE BAY TOWN TOPICS Recent visitors at the home of Ted and Irene Mclnnes included Mr. and Mrs. Dick MacKenzie, South River; Joe Hogan and Mary, Braeside, Ont.; Bill Hogan and Evelyn, Powassan; Ray LeFevre, Levack; Harvey and Phyllis Sargent and three children of Port Loring and Mrs. Mclnnes', two sisters, Mrs. Mary Kennedy of Levack and Mrs. Fay Mclnnes, with daughter Cathy, Trout Creek, Ont. Omitted from the recent write-up on the Mcinnes Glad wedding was the fact that the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 223, Ladies Auxiliary, catered fo the wedding banquet. AGENT FOR UNITED VAN LINES TERRACE BAY POLIC E DEPARTMENT REPORT Terrace Bay Police investigated a total of twenty- one occurences during the week September 24th-30th. Four cautions were issued under the Highway Traffic Act and eight motor vehicle spot checked for cari su for defective equipment. One accident under $200.00 was investigated and five transients checked. The local Police Department has volunteered to answer any questions pertaining fo law with regards to the Criminal Code and Highway Traffic Act. LADIES GOLF CLUB WIND-UP The lady members of the A guasabon Golf Club had their Annual Wind-up at the home of Mrs. Peggy Wellings on Sunday, October Ist. A good time was had by all commencing the evening with a steak barbeque then the Annual Meeting with presentation of prizes afterwards .
