Mrs. Gordon McParland and Mrs. Ambrose McGrath are away on a round of family visiting with Dr. Stanley Morrill and family in Vancouver; Mrs. Erle Holmes and family in Powell River, B.C. and Miss Doris Morrill, in Calgary. Mrs. Larry Bourke is convalescing in the Toronto General Hospital after surgery. Bill Kirkpatrick was in Winnipeg last week, with other Northwestern Ontario delegates to meet in an informal session with Winnipeg agents of the Metro- politan Life Insurance Company. Mrs. Kirkpatrick accompanied her husband and during her absence Mrs. Claire Power served in the towns public library. Miss Bernice Pardy, whose marriage to Albert Courtemanche takes place on September 29th was honoured at a community shower tea on September 20 Receiving with her were Mrs. Annette Courtemanche her fiance's mother and Mrs. Eric Pardy. The daintily-appointed small tables were served by the Misses Alanna Power, Janet Richardson, Jackie Zborowski and Jewell Paradis. Mrs. Charlie Pearson and Mrs. Wallace Cameron replenished. Brian and Donald Ray have arrived home from a holiday spent with relatives in Kirkland Lake. Adolph King was a business visitor to the Lakehead during the week. : Miss Camilla Todesco returned Sunday to Toronto after a week's holiday with her parents Mr. and Mrs. C .W. Todesco. Miss Shirley Bouchard has obtained employment ir. Marathon, Ontario. Gerry Bouchard spent the weekend with friends in Nipigon. Mrs. Dominic Martin has returned from a Thunder Bay Hospital. Mr. and Mrs. Erickson have closed their summer residence and returned to Thunder Bay. . Mrs. Margaret Martin is visiting relatives in the States and Eastern Ontario.
