Transportation from Manitouwadge to Heron Bay was authorized for every second week, and also holiday periods and the cost of this to be borne by the Board. This refers to students whose homes are in Manitouwadge and who attend the Lake Superior High School and is for the School Year 1972-73. Corporal Punishment is to be eliminated in all our schools. Further action regarding the legal dispute on own- ership of schools and evaluation and adjustment of assets and liabilities of former Boards is to be left to the discretion of Board Lawyers. Expenditures for 1972 are to be controlled to en- sure that losses in anticipated revenue due to drop- ping enrolments are balanced by reduced spending. A committee composed of the following members was set up to review present practices regarding bur- saries, scholarships and graduation exercises in our schools and to make recommendations to the Board for updating, equalizing and making these items more effective in the light of changing conditions. THE LAKE SUPERIOR BOARD OF EDUCATION wishes to announce its program of EVENING COURSES 1972 - 73 LAKE SUPERIOR HIGH SCHOOL The Board is once more making its facilities available to the general public by offering evening courses in any subject for which there is a sufficient number of students and for which the services of a tescher can be secured. The following are probable subjects, courses or activities. SCHREIBER Accounting (Ist Year - Credit) Conversational French Italian Driver Education Physical Fitness and Recreation Typewriting (Credit) Snowmobiling (Activity) Grade I3 subjects (Credits) - English - History Geography - Art All courses which do not carry a credit are two (2) hours a week on Tuesday and Thursday, according to the wish of the majority, for two terms of ten weeks each. All creait courses will meet twice a week on Tuesdays and Thursdays, for one and one half hours, from October Ist through to May Ist, holidays excepted. This does not apply to typewriting, where the group meets once per week for two hours. For further information call 825-3271. Official Registration will be taken on THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 28, I972 between 7 pem, and 9 p.m. Fees will be paid at that time. Registration for any courses will be taken and fees may be paid at the Schreiber Campus or the Terrace Bey Campus, regardless of where the course is given, You mey register by phone prior to September 28th. All courses shown, times and location listed are subject to change. It should be noted that there is no fee for an approved activity group meeting under the leadership of one of the E.E.
