Being seven down after 17 holes he came back to win by playing par golf for the remaining 10 holes. He was one down coming home. M. Dashkewytch after winning the first hole of a playoff came in 2nd in the first flight. P. Dashkew- ytch placed 2nd in the 2nd flight. Mr. and Mrs. Chas Luke, Maggie and Cathy of Kirkland Lake are visiting Mrs. Luke's sister, Mrs. Isadore Ray and family. Other guests were Mr. and Mrs. Jack Pellerin of Sudbury. Mr. and Mrs. A. Peterson and family of Thunder Bay are holidaying with Mr. and Mrs. Jacabson. Judge and Mrs. Geo. Paradise of Sioux City, lowa have arrived for their annual fishing holiday. They were accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. Ben Paradise and Georgie also of Sioux City. Mrs. Maurice Nicol of Manitouwadge visited Andre Nicol, Mr. and Mrs. Leon Nicol and children on Nicol Island this week. Others present were Mr. and Mrs. John McCormick and family of Ottawa. Mr. and Mrs. George Boudreau and family have returned to Thunder Bay after holidaying with relative Harold Sargent of New Westminister B.C . renewed acquaintances here this week en route to Toronto. Evelyn Schroeder is visiting relatives at Raith, Ont. Mr. and Mrs. Jos. Dubois and children have refurn- ed to Toronto after a holiday with relatives here. Mr. and Mrs. Peter Turega of Raith are holidaying with Mr. and Mrs. Henry Schroeder. George Watts has left to visit relatives in Thunder Bay and Fort Francis. Miss Colleen Kenney has left to take up a position with the Kelowna, B.C . schoolboard in Early Child- hood Education. Gertrude Schroeder is a patient in the Terrace Bay McCausland Hospital . Mr. and Mrs. O. Schlumph of Minniapolis, Minn. are holidaying at their camp at Gurney. John and Joe Hubelit of Wawa are visiting theit grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Mac Hubelit. Mr. and Mrs. Allan Buzzie and son Allan of Thunder Bay are visiting his sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Herb Legault. Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Gerow and family spent the holiday weekend at Thunder Bay. Alex Zwaresh was a business visitor to Thunder Bay during the week. Mrs. Thressa Wall and son Ronnie of Renfrew, Ont. are visiting her brother Albert and Mrs. Rouble. Mr. and Mrs. Wilfred Gaune of Thunder Bay spent the holiday weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Len Ibey. S HARP Excitement and enthus- iasm filled the playground at Holy Angels recently. It was a time when everyone shar- ed in friendly competition and school spirit. It was "Play Day!" Games included everything from nail hammering to pole climbing; and of course the pouse that refreshes break time. A special thank you to the parents and young people who assisted the teachers and children. Winners were chosen from the Junior and Senior grades. Proudly displaying their first prize ribbons and badges are the "Senior pictured with Father Meyer (page 11) and the Junior Team pictured with Sister Marvel (page 11). "It is a time for joy, a time for tears, a time that echoes through the years". Perhaps these are some of the afterthoughts of the grade eight students from Holy Angels as the exuberance of their big day died away. And indeed it was a big day for each of them!
