HOSPITAL BOARD MEETING The McCausland Hospital Board of Governors held a Trustee Orientation Program in Terrace Bay on Wednesday, July 26, 1972. Board members and administrators from hospitals in Geraldton, Manitou- wadge, Marathon and Nipigon also participated in the meeting. Mr. Frank Anderson, President of The McCausland Hospital Board acted as chairman for the program which was presented by representatives of the Ontario Hospital Association. Mr. R. Alan Hay O.H.A. Executive Director spoke on "The Effective Trustee"; Mr. R.A. Slute discussed "Some of The Trustee's Legal Responsibilities" and Miss Margaret M. Murray reviewed "O .H.A, Continuing Education cl Programs." Also on the program was Dr. A.B. Coulson, Chief of Medical Staff, St. Joseph's Hospital, Thunder Bay whose topic was "Medical Staff Relationships" . At the end of the formal presentations, the guest speakers answered questions from the Board members on a wide range of subjects. This meeting is part of an ongoing orientation and education program for the McCausland Hospital Board, who were pleased to invite the hospitals in the area to join in this particular event. The Ontario Hospital Association, as part of its service fo member hospitals, provides orientation material and conducts educational sessions for administrative staff and Board members. The association will also sponsor a Regional Conference for Small Hospitals in Sault Ste. Marie on September 27, 1972 in addition to its Annual Convention in Toronto on October 23, 24, & 25th. CONSUMERS" ASSOCIATION PRESS RELEASE Consumers" Association of Canada today announ- ced that it has no connection with Marcom Systems Ltd. (Management Communications Systems Lid. , 197 Laird Drive, Toronto 17, Ontario) which has been distributing survey forms under the title, "Canadian Consumer Service/Opinion Canada". The form requests the householder's name and address and questions him on the products he buys, his education, weekly grocery expenditures, type of dwelling, number in household, age of children, marital status, occupation and family income. If a householder fills out the survey and mails it, a company representative will call to offer a box of 18 products and ask $2.50 for handling charges.
