SCHREIBER PARKS AND RECREATION NEWS Summer Programmes: Public School Gym: The Public School Gymnasium has been loaned to the Recreation Committee for the summer on a trial basis. Basketball and volleyball will be offered in the new gym. A time schedule of events will be posted in the Arena and Public School Gym. Arena: Activities in the Arena have not been offered as early as previous years because of difficulty in clean- ing the ice surface. Activities such as table tennis, tennis, floor suffleboard and badminton will be offer=- ed six days a week from one p.m. to four-thirty p.m. and from seven p.m. to ten p.m. as soon as the playing surfaces are dry. Tennis Courts: The Tennis Courts in the Holy Angels Community Playground are completed thanks to the support of the Schreiber Town Council. A Tennis Club is to be formed in the immediate future with a membership fee. Members will receive a membership card and key to the new storage shed. Tennis will be offered in the Arena for those not wish- ing to pay the fee. Spectators are asked to remain outside the fence to continued page 10
