Sundland of Thunder Bay are planning on opening a shop in the property formerly owned by the Molinski Bros. on Main St. Mr. and Mrs. Leo Ditschum of Stoney Creek, Ont, are visiting Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Lanigan. Mr. and Mrs. John McCormick (formerly Simone Nicol) and family of Ottawa are holidaying on Nicol Island here. Visitors during the week with the Mac Hubelit family were Mr. and Mrs. Luke Rochon of Batche- wana Bay, Ont. Miss Shirley Bouchard of North Bay accompanied by Norman Rockburn of Mattawa, Ont. were visit- ing her parents and family Mr. and Mrs. Romeo Bouchard this week. Mr. and Mrs. Warren DuPee of Grand Rapids, Mich, and Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Lyon of Kalamazoo Mich. were up for their annual fishing trip and very pleased with their catch. Mr. and Mrs. John Usher and family of Thunder Bay were in the harbour with their sail boat the Skylark, while vacationing along the north shore. Mr. and Mrs. J.T. Douglas, Jeanie and Jaci lyn have returned to Webbwood after holidaying with the Chas. Todescos. Doctor and Mrs. T.B. Merner of Faribault, Minn. are here on their annual fishing holiday . Mrs . George Jeffery and daughter Andrea of Norwood, Ont., are holidaying here this week. Mr. and Mrs. G. Waddington of New York are among our holidayers this week. Mr. and Mrs. M. Nicolin and daughter have left for their home in Saskatoon after visiting the Bill and Mac Hubelit families. P.S. Cocks of Richmond, Quebec was a business visitor here this week. Mr. and Mrs. H. Fedorick of Brantford, Mrs. Frank Gerow, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Gerow and son visited Mrs. Edith Hubelit and family on the week- end. Mrs. Albert Bourguignon and children of New Glassgow, N.S. visited her father Clem Downey here the past week before continuing west ona holiday. Mr. and Mrs. Richard Papinaude have left for Beardmore and Kapuskasing en route to their home in Espanola after visiting Mr.ad Mrs. CW. Todesco the past week. Seventeen young cyclists between the ages of 13 and 15 were in the village enroute from Seattle, sWash. to Halifax. They claimed that Rossport was the half- way mark in their journey. They had chaperones with them. They carried sleeping bags, spare cloth- ing and food with them, in a compact travelling kit. They were quite enthused with the Canadian scen- ery and were able fo take pictures of Canadian wild- life enroute. They left Seattle in mid June and hope to be in Halifax by September. Mrs. Mary Mushqush has returned from Geraldton and Longlac. Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Gerow, Cathy and Peter and Mr. P. Testori were weekend visitors to Thunder Bay. Mellisa Bain is a patient in a lakehead hospital having been injured in a fall while playing with her brothers and sisters. : Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Huller have returned to Aylmer, Ont, after holidaying with the Lester Legault family at their summer residence here. FEW ENTRIES AT FISH DERBY Only 22 entries were entered at the Loyal Order of Moose Fish Derby held at Rossport on July 15th and 16th. The attendance prize of $300.00 was won by Mrs. Jean Crook of Schreiber. In the Lake Trout division prizes were awarded as follows: 1st prize - Ken Johnson of Terrace Bay weighing in at 6 lbs. 11 0z.; 2nd prize Neil Nesbitt, Schreiber - 5 Ib. 4 oz. and 3rd prize = Marvin Osmar of Terrace Bay. Speckled Trout division = Ist prize - Frank Roen Terrace Bay - 2 Ib. 2 0z.; 2nd = Joe Campbell Jr. 2b, oz, Rainbow Trout division = 1st prize = Robert Noonan, 8 oz. Mr. Charles Henderson of the Sport Shop and Restaurant, Rossport, donated two timex watches as mystery prizes (hidden weights). The ladies watch was won by Mrs. Frank Roen of Terrace Bay and the men's by George Bruley Jr. of Thunder Bay. Those in charge of arranging the fish derby includes - Len Burns, Brady Burns and Charles Foreman, Governor of the Lodge. In charge of the hot dog stand were Mrs. Bill Sadowick, Mrs. Alma Moquin and Mrs. Sadie Benko.
