The Ontario Hydro Electric Power Commission advised that an increase in power costs will take effect July Ist, to the extent of 7.7%. A rate review for the Township Hydro system is presently underway . The resignation of G. Waldbauer from the Terrace Bay Police Force was regretfully accepted. A request for rezoning, so that a local resident could erect a Drive-in Food Bar on Highway 17 was discussed. Having had several requests in the past few months for re-zoning, a complete re-evaluation of available commercial properties and needs for same will be undertaken, in the near future. The Thunder Bay District Health Unit advised that they would be featured on the program, Around Town, on CKPR, approximately 6:05-6:15 p.m., several times through the summer months, starting May 30th. This is to acquaint people with the type of work they are doing. Ontario Hydro of Thunder Bay advised that future sale of water heating tanks will be handled by Sadowick Heating and Refrigeration of Terrace Bay. The Industrial Relations Superintendant of Kimberly Clark stated in a letter that the Kimberly-Clark Townsite plumber will no longer be available on a regular basis. The Northwestern Ontario Municipal Association gave notice of a Fall Convention to be held in Thunder Bay, October 5,6, and 7th. Hewitson Construction advised they would be un- able to tender on the local oiling project. The McCausland Hospital Board of Governors re- quested permission to erect signs on McDonald Ave. and Cartier Rd. The Administrator was requested to recheck the area in order that the signs not interfere with private residences. In an answer to a letter from Sioux Lookout Council, Council stated they were in agreement that they should support the Northwestern Municipal Road Superintendant School to be held in Thunder Bay and so advised the N.W.O.M.A. A resolution was passed to ask John Mikus, local Road Supt., to attend if possible. Minutes from the Chamber of Commerce, Hospital Board and Recreation Committee meetings were read. A resolution was passed to adopt the Municipal budget for 1972, and the effect of this year's budget indicates that the residential mill rate remain the same as 1971, and a slight 1/2 mill increase on commercial property.
