NSSSAA Track & Field Champs: Lake Superior High School won the NSSAA Track & Field Championship on May 23 at Wawa with a final point total of 248 1/2. Nip=Rock was 2nd with 187 points; Geraldton was 3rd with 137; Man- itouwadge was 4th with 132 1/2; Wawa was 5th with 103; Marathon was 6th with 93 1/2 and Chapleau placed 7th with 15 points. In the Midget Girls' Division Darlene Fummerton placed 2nd in the 100 metres, 4th in the long jump and 1st in the discus. In junior girls Clover Dukes was Ist in the 50 meters, lst in the 100 metres, 2nd in the hurdles and 1st in the triple jump. Janet Zwir was Ist in the 400 metres and 4th in the 800. Linda Huard was Ist in the 800. Anita Stuart was 3rd in the shot put and Alice Stuart was Ist. Donna McGrath was 3rd in the discus. Lorne Bourke was 4th in the pole vault. Jim Collinson was 3rd in the pole vault. In Senior Boys' Ron Chicoine was 1st in the high jump. Joe Speziale was 4th in the 100. Ken Turner was 4th in the 200. Dan McGrath was Ist in the pole vault. The Senior Boys relay team won the 400 metre relay and included Ken Turner, John Capar, Clar- ence Yates and Joe Speziale. The Junior Boys' Relay Team won the 800 metre relay and included Bill Smilsky, Kim Gellert, Mark Stokes and Mark Dashkewytch. "The Junior Girls relay won their event and inclu- ded Clover Dukes, Lynn Drake, Lorraine Dobush and Teresa Falzetta.
