UNITED CHURCH WOMEN At. their March meeting the United Church Women made first plans to cater for the Legion auxiliary bir- thday dinner in May, for the Rebekah president's din- ner, and a wedding dinner, in June. Mrs. Norma Fummerton reported an intrease in subscriptions for the Observer, the church magazine. Mrs. Annie Niemi reported two quilts ready for quilting. Mrs. Della Moore reported sending 26 cards for various occasions. Plans were reviewed for the delicatessen being held in the church hall on Saturday March 11th, starting at 2 p.m. with coffee and doug= hnuts served. Mrs. Wilhelmina Prinselaar who presided for the meeting read an interesting paper on Roots and Causes of Predjudice~and showed a film on Poverty in Canad Minutes and firnancial accounts were adopted as read by Mrs. Bern Whent and Mrs. Nettie Thrower Lunch was served by Mrs. Marguerite Gerow, Mrs. Etta Gray, and Mrs. Della Moore. Keith Scott of Clackmannanshire, Scotland, is visiting his son, Keith, making three generations named Keith, in the same home. Due to family tradi- tion, only one first name is given and the Scott's are very proud of belonging to the smallest shire, with the biggest name! CONFEDERATION COLLEGE CARAVAN The Confederation College Caravan visited Schrei- ber Campus on March 2 and 3rd, to provide informat- ion about the College for our students and teachers. All students were given the opportunity to visit the Caravan and to investigate the opportunities for them at Confederation College. In addition, a panel discussion was held in the Lib- rary for all interested Fourth and Fifth year students. The panel discussion included such topics as living at the college, its various new facilities on and ar- ound the campus, and a questiom: and answer period. FORMER STUDENT ON CAMPUS FORMER STUDENT ON CAMPUS Sharon Smith of Lakehead University last week observed and taught at the Schreiber Campus. She is currently in her first year of a B.A. and Education program, majoring in English. PARENT-TEACHER INTERVIEWS Ontario Education Week is March 5-11, 1972. Lake Superior High School has entered into the theme of Education Weed for 1972,- "Community Grows Through Education" by holding Parent-Teacher Inter- views. Parent-Teacher interviews will be held at the Schreiber Campus on March 8th from 7:00 p.m.-10:00 p.m. and at the Terrace Bay Campus on March 9th from 7:00 p.m.-10:00 p.m. Parents are requested to bring the brochure and their son's or daughter's report card with them to the interview. Schreiber Campus is also participating along with Holy Angels School and the ichreiber Public School in and "Open House" on March 8th. Students and teochers are looking forward to having parents and interested citizens visit the classes during the day. BASKETBALL HAPPENINGS On February 24, in the Manitouwadge High School gymnasium, both our Junior Basketball teams were defeated by Manitouwadge teams. The Junior Girls lost 43 = 29. Darlene Fummerton was the high scorer for Lake Superior in this game with 8 points to her credit. The Junior Boys lost out by a score of 33 - 24.
