"TERRACE BAY NEWS FEBRUARY 24, 1972 CARNIVAL COMMENTS Terrace Bay's first Annual Winter Carnival is now a thing of the past, but the committee who helped to guide it will continue to function until a final sum- mary is prepared. When a completed finacial state- ment is ready it will be published. The committee is aware that this first Carnival was not perfect and with this in mind, will list recom= mendations to help guide future Carnival Committees. The tremendous response by various organizations and businesses was indeed heartening and to the names of those previously listed are added Ferdinand Daoust Ltd., Nipigon Bottling Works and The Terrace Bay Robinson Store. One group who did a reall great job was the very important prize committee:= Mr. Forbes Cruickshank, Mrs. Kay Dozois and Mrs. Mary Roberts. Without the support and enthusiam of the entire community the Carnival would have been a flop. It was wonderful to see the Arena filled and attendance at the various events so outstanding. Photographs taken throughout the Carnival are in the hands of the developers. When these are received a selection will be given to the "News" for publicat- ion. RECREATION NEWS NORTH SHORE MINOR HOCKEY PLAYOFFS SCHEDULED THIS WEEKEND At the time of this write-up, the North Shore Minor Hockey executive were in the process of establishing the playoff schedule for all teams. Hopefully this information will be available for publication by today, February 24th. ALL FANS ARE URGED TO ATTEND HOME PLAYOFF GAMES AND SUPPORT OUR LOCAL HOCKEY PLAYERS. RINGETTE EXHIBITION GAME The Senior girls of the Ringette League will be travelling to Red Rock this coming Saturday, Febr- vary 26th, to play an exhibition game with the Red Rock girls. JUNIOR BADMINTON THIS SATURDAY All players in the Junior Badminton programme are reminded that the next session will be this Saturday, February 26th, at 10:00 a.m. in the High School Auditorium. UPHOLSTERY WORKSHOP - SECOND COURSE For those who registered for the second Upholstery Workshop, a reminder that the workshop will be held from March 6th to 10th in the Art Room of the Recreation Centre. A special meeting will be held with the registrants this Thursday, February 24th, at 11:00 a.m. in the Art Room.
