PAGE 8 = TERRACE BAY NEWS La 3 i JANUARY 6, 1972 RECREATION NEWS 1972 RECREATION DISCS NOW AVAILABLE All persons who are members in good standing of the Terrace Bay Recreation Association may now pick up their 1972 discs at the Recreation Office. New colours of discs this year are as follows: - Recreation Membership = brown with white lettering Swim Pool & Recreation Membership - yellow with black lettering. SINCE IT IS MANDATORY FOR MEMBERS OF THE RECREATION ASSOCIATION TO PRESENT DISCS AT CERTAIN FUNCTIONS AND PROGRAM- MES, IT IS EXTREMELY IMPORTANT THAT YOU PICK UP YOUR DISCS IMMEDIATELY. Recreation Office hours are from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday to Friday. All members of the Terrace Bay Recreation Associ- ation should attempt to return their old discs in ex- change for the new ones. CERAMICS WORKSHOP STARTS TODAY JAN. 6th The Ceramics Workshop as advertised by the Rec- reation Department during December of 1971 will officially get underway this evening, Thursday, January 6th, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. This course will take place in tha Art Room of the Terrace Bay High School Campus and instructor for the course will be Mary Middaugh. Registrants should be on time for the starting sessions and also bring the reg- istration fee with them. Registrants should also wear appropriate clothing for this workshop (i.e., an old shirt and slacks) . SELF-IMPROVEMENT COURSE TO BE HELD At the time of this write-up, a special meeting with all registrants for the Self-1 mprovement Course scheduled for Tuesday, January 4th, will have been held. 3 The Recreation Office is pleased to announce that Gloria Moody and two other professional models will be conducting this course, at a fee which is much | ower than the going rate. All registrants were contacted by phone to inform' t hem of the special meeting which was held on Jan. 4th. More details concerning this course will be announced in next week's News. It is expected that the Self-Improvement Course will start on either January 15th or 16th. PRE-SCHOOLERS SKATING SCHOOL RESUMES Session #3 for the Pre-Schoolers Skating School will be held this Thursday, January 6th, starting at 2:00 p.m. at the Terrace Bay arena. Parents of : children involved in the skating school should make an effort to attend their session on time. It is hoped that by the end of January various badges will be available for those who would like to try individual tests for the badges. 'STRETCH AND SEW' COURSE The Recreation Office is pleased to announce that Mrs. M. McKague has agreed to conduct another 'Stretch and Sew' course. This ' Stretch and Sew' Course is scheduled to be held the last two weeks in January and the first two weeks in February.
