LADIES GOLF NEWS A dinner meeting was held at the Terrace Bay Motor Hotel, Tuesday, October 5th with a good number of lady golfers present. Prizes were presented for various tournaments held during the past season. Ringer board winners were = Low Gross - Peggy Wellings; Runner-up = Low Net = Jean Megraw. The greatest reduction in handicap award went to Jeannette Gunter. Election of officers was held for the 1972 season. Those chosen were = Marg Phillips, Ollie Chapman, Julie Rattray, Jan Hall and Helen Laybourne. To serve another term are - Past President = lvy Pattison, Jresident = Peggy Wellings, Secretary- Treasurer = Elizabeth McLeod and Captain - Jeannette Gunter. LEGION HOLDS AWARDS NIGHT Legion Awards night was very well attended by members, friends, as well as those who won the prizes for the various sports over the past season. Lobster was the highlight of the evening, well cooked and served by Mr. and Mrs. Paul Rochon. Max Kekilok, Molson's Breweries Representative, was on hand to present trophies to all the winners. The big presentation, of an engraved silver tray, courtesy of Molson's, went to Ernie Kettle, for the largest lake trout, caught this. season. Other fish prizes, a silver tankard, courtesy of Molson's, went to Pat Jones, for the largest rain- bow, Wilf Mallais, for Pike, Hec Mcleod, picker- el, Bill Hanley, speckled trout, and these men were also the winners of the Legion prize, present- ed by President, Pat Jones. Winner of the Cribbage tournament was Charles Koski. The dart team winners were Charlie Koski and Joyce Mercier. The Legion District Curling Playdown winners in Manitouwadge this past winter were the local Terrace Bay rink of Scotty Hamilton, Charlie Koski, Jim Clancy and Benny Hayes. - cont'd page 9....
