Minutes were adopted as read. A resolution was passed to accept the appointment of Mr. Verle Thompson as Councillor to replace Mr. Al Chisholm, who recently resigned with regret, due to his acceptance of a new position in Rexdale, Ontario. Accounts passed for payment were: Township - $111,235.85; Hydro - 9,078.24; Library-436.35; . Recreation Committee - 9,758.56. A resolution was passed to donate $100 to the residents of Pinewood Courf Home for the Aged, to add to their Bus Fund. Reeve Cavanaugh will attend the District 3 O.M., E.A. Fall Conference in Thunder Bay. Correspondence included a letter from Al Chis- holm, expressing his regret at having to tender his resignation to Council, having being assigned a new position in Rexdale. Mr. Chisholm stated that he had thoroughly enjoyed his work with the Coun- cil, during his tenure of office. Reeve Cavanaugh responded with his regret at losing him, saying he had made a valuable contribution to the town and council, and wished him well in his future home. Notification was received that the Thunder Bay Municipal League Executive meeting will be held on September 18th, in Thunder Bay. Reeve Cava- naugh will attend. Advice was received from the Municipal Solicitors regarding assessment informa- tion. CHISHOLM ANNOUNCED Mill Manager, J.A. Ferrier, has announced a transfer of Mr. Alan N. Chisholm, former Indust- rial Relations Superintendent of the Terrace Bay Mill, to the Rexdale Plant of Kimberly-Clark of Canada, Toronto. Concurrent with this move, Mr. Verle T. Thomp- son has been appointed as Superintendent of Indust- rial Relations at the local mill. Mr. Chisholm has been active in the Boy Scout Organization, a former School Board member, very active in the Community Church and also a Coun- cillor on Township's Council. Mr. Chisholm and wife Marilyn and three boys and one daughter will be greatly missed in the Com= munity and we wish them all success in their new home. RECREATION NEWS p DON'T FORGET TO PICK UP YOUR SWIM TEST AWARDS Anyone who has not yet picked up their swim test awards for the August session can do so by dropping down to the Recreation Office. Anyone who suc- cessfully completed their pre-beginners tests will be notified by the Recreation Office when their cards have been received from the Red Cross office in Thunder Bay.
