Peter Mushqush has returned from a holiday at St. Paul, Minn. An and Bertha Lazar of Chicago enjoyed a sight seeing and fishing trip in the Bay. Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Gerow entertained at a birthday dinner party on Sunday, honouring their son Peter's fifteenth birthday. His sister Cathy and their grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Peter Testori, Adolph King (who was also celebrating his birthday), his son Peter and wife and two grandchildren from Chapleau were all present for the occasion. ST. BERCHMAN'S ALTAR SOCIETY Mrs. Mac Hubelit was hostess to the St. Berch- man's Altar Society members Thursday evening when they resumed their meetings after summer re- cess. The president Mrs. R. Kenney chaired the meeting and led in the opening and closing prayers. The minutes were adopted as read on motions of Mrs. Testori and Mrs. Gerow. The financial state- ment was approved as presented on motions of Mrs. H. Legault and Mrs. M. Hubelit. It was unanimously agreed that the altar at the church be kept as it had just been remodelled re- cently. It was announced that the one P.M. Mass will start on the 19th of month. A supply of light bulbs are to be ordered. A merchandise and cash bingo was planned for the end of the month. It was decided to ask the Knights of Columbus for the use of their bingo cards till the Society's new ones arrive. Mrs. Kenney will take care of the church clean- ing till the end of October when Mrs. R. Legault will take over for the balance of the year. Mrs. F. Legault will care for the church linens. Sewing material was distributed. A report was heard on the number of Penny Auction prizes on hand and that the draw tickets were selling very well. The draw will take place in October.
