PAGE 10 TERRACE BAY NEWS SEPTEMBER 16, 1971 LIBRARY BOARD MEETS The Schreiber Library Board met on August 31, with the following results. The board had previously presented the Town Coun- cil with a budget outlining its financial difficulties in continuing a high standard of service to the pre- schoolers and the adults and in the merging services with the school students. The Town Council assisted the Board with an increased Municipal grant. The Library Trustees expressed their gratitude and put info operation phase one of improvements. Mrs. R. McGrath accepted the convenorship of the Arts and Crafts Section. Accounts totalling 1,266.32 were ordered paid. 768 books were exchanged during the month of Aug. The next N .W.R.L. bookmobile exchange will be Monday, November 15th at 9 a.m. Mr. T. Farthing, consultant from Thunder Bay visited the library to ascertain the types of non-fic- tion books and the Trustees opinions regarding future bookmobile services and book purchases. Questionaires were completed in order to assist in a regional survey by the Northwestern Regional Library System. The secretary was granted permission to order some of the lates adult books that will be off the presses in September, October and November. Miss Edith Clemens has left to attend Lakehead University. She will enrol in the second year arts course. RUBY LODGE MEETING The regular monthly meeting of Ruby Rebekah Lodge was held with Noble Grand Mrs. Beth Macadam and Vice Grand Mrs. Norma Fummerton presiding on September 8th. Mrs. Chris Morris gave a lengthy sick and visiting report for the past sum- mer. Mrs. Gladys Hamilton is still in hospital in Toronto and gifts had been presented to two members who had moved away. The C .P.T. committee will hold their penny auc- tion on Sept. 17th in the Town Hall. Volunteers are needed to assist at the sale. Tickets are now on sale and draw prize is an electric blanket. Members are asked to donate prizes. Mrs. Helen Wallace had prepared a report of the United Nations Pilgrimage Bus Tour luncheon served in July and thanks = Continued next column ..... was extended to all who had helped. A card of appreciation containing names and cities of all the students was received. . Mrs. Norma Fummerton presented a lengthy and interesting report on the sessions of the Rebekah Assembly of Ont. held in Toronto last June. Mrs. Chris Morris also spoke on the meeting of the District Association which she attended with Mrs. Wallace in Thunder Bay. The Noble Grand congratulated Mrs. Mavis Slater in her new office as Vice President of the Rebekah Assembly of Ont. and wished her success in her high honour. A committee was named to arrange for Mrs. Slater's reception next June. At the meeting on September 22nd, the lodge will celebrate her 47th birthday with a social and pre= sentation of veteran jewels. All members are urged to attend this meeting. ROSSPORT TOWN TOPICS Camillo Todesco of Geraldton visited his uncle Charles Todesco enroute to Marathon. Mr. and Mrs. Romeo Bouchard, Tommy, Alice, Anita and Terry Ann are holidaying in White River and Dalton. Guests of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Testori this week were Mrs. Angeline Zanni, Mr. and Mrs. Tony Minoletti, Gino Minoletti, Joseph Minoletti and Mrs. Kattie Watchler of Thunder Bay. Mrs. Anne Todesco has returned from Webbwood and Sudbury. David Mushqush has returned from Mobert and White River. : Mr. and Mrs. Albert Bruley and family, Mr. and Mrs. Ken Bruley and family, Mr. and Mrs. R. Bruley and family, Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Bruley and family and Mrs. Grace Bruley have all returned to Thunder Bay after holidaying at their summer camp here. Former school teachers here who visited the i villagers this summer were Mrs. Mildred Price accom- panied by her husband Roger of Toronto; Glen Hodginson with Mrs. Hodginson and children of Don Mills. Messers Anthony C. Bazos and Lionel Sacherren of Toronto have been exploring their mining claims in the area the past month. Allan R.
