On the traffic scene four occurrences were inves= tigated resulting in one person being injured and $1500. of damage to the vehicles involved. OF the four collisions investigated the most serious occurred on the sharp curve one half mile east of Schreiber. The investigation conducted by Consta- ble Wills on August 18 revealed a 1960 Volkswagon * owned and driven by Francois Courtian of Toronto failed to negotiate the curve, lost control and the vehicle rolled over on the highway. Mr. Courtian was admitted to Terrace Bay Hospital with a broken hip. This makes a total of six accidents at this location that have been reported this year, five of which involved local residents. A speed sign of 50 MPH has been erected just east of the curve and any speed in excess of this is taking an undue risk. Remember familiarity breeds contempt and it is im- possible to take a curve at a given speed on all occ- asions as road and traffic conditions are never the same.
